When i open sonar I hear a slight fluttering sound -(maudio firewire 410) but soon as i open a window like close project dialog or other option it stops is this normal

in sonar 2 when i hit stop the system stopped where i stopped it- but in 3 it returns to the last "green" marker or if there are no green marker it goes all the way back to the start is there someway of getting rid of this "modern feature"
