I have these, and they seem to make the bass sound too good, I always want to add more. Also if you're doing any mixing with these, mix in a pair of monitors too. I typically get good results when I mix in monitors, then make changes in the headphones when I hear something obviously weird, then...

okay, isn't the "headroom" of a preamp an measure of the room before all out clipping? If so than maybe there can be distortion before actual analog clipping occurs? Is this what the argument is about- whether there is distortion before clipping happens in analog?

I'll pan a track in the center all the time. I will usually have this track pretty quiet comparatively, and roll out a lot of lows and low mid stuff so it doesn't get in the way of the bass too much.

I don't have any problems with my score, I mixed only on headphones. I do think that the scores would have looked a little different if it was blind and no one knew who's mix they were listening to, based on the ones I've listened to.

can regular programs/disc drives like nero etc do ddp or is that something more specialized? I don't even know what ddp is.
