why not use one pc, one mic, one interface, and just move the mic around to different points and save the measurements to compare later? seems overboard to have that many mics set up at once. unless the test tones are not repeatable for some reason?

those monitors look a little to high. i prefer mine with the tweeters at ear level. those are just shooting over your head in a sitting position.

i like protools, and MACS..;) i am coming the opposite way. i was running a pc with vegas for years, made the switch to PT and a mac. i am a happy camper.... although, i am watching the development of reaper for mac. i must say, it is moving pretty slow compared to the pc development, oh well...

you have to get under the hood of pcs, that is why i like macs... ;)

you have to understand, you really dont have to do anything to "setup" a mac. THAT is the biggest difference. not performance, not price.....

i just remember going through about 9 pages of "tweaks" when i used a pc for recording. after, my machine ran nicely. on the other hand, i opened the box for my mac, installed my software, plugged in my interface and i was up and running. i agree, both mac and pc have the potential to be rock...

the mac definately takes ALOT less time to set up.... ;)

what are you wanting to do? if you want to add more mic inputs, a better option would be an octopre or digimax. these are 8 channel mic preamps.
