Hey all. For a few months now I've been looking into building a drum booth so that I can go at it in my garage without pissing off the already miserable neighbours. At first I looked at stuff like Esmono and Whisper rooms, but there's just no way I can afford something like that. Earlier today...

I tend to use buzz rolls that go into single strokes with the left hand accented. I also use a lot of rim shots as well. TBH, though, I don't really think about what I'm doing when I'm soloing or doing fills. I just do what sounds right :rolleyes:

Ah, that's a point. I've never used Media Player to burn, so I don't know if that's a common problem or not. I've always used Nero and never had any issues. Have you tried it on a few different systems? It could be an issue with the cd player you're using. Other than that, I honestly don't know...

I like it. The mix comes across nice and clear (I'm listening through shitty laptop speakers). The drums sound punchy and tight, and the guitars are a nice wall of sound on the heavier parts. The only criticism I have is that the vocals don't seem to sit very well in mix, but the guy doesn't...

What speed are you burning at? AFAIK you should be burning at the lowest speed possible.

If you're going to be triggering you'd be better off using a shitty £5 computer mic, just to record the impedance. Don't risk a 57 on it - I don't think they're designed to handle that kind of SPL. I could be wrong though, so I'd wait for somebody more knowledgeable than me to either agree or...

Kinda reminds me of a band that gig around here, I think they're called This Product. I've only heard one of their songs recorded, mind, but this definitely remind me of it - although their's is slightly more System Of A Down than Sesame Street :rolleyes:

The only problem I can see is having potential phase issues when running both the hot and cold taps simultaneously. Otherwise you should be good to go.
