    Home Studio Keyboard Recommendations

Thanks so far... I looked at MIDI controllers, and most of the $100-range units have a very limited number of keys. I'd like to keep the number of keys at or above 61. Also, I think that I'd like to go with an all-in-one unit, rather than a separate module and controller combo. Regarding the...

    Home Studio Keyboard Recommendations

I'm putting together a home digital recording solution. As part of the setup, I am looking to buy a fairly inexpensive keyboard for MIDI sequencing (drums, bass and effects) as well as playing. I've been looking at the Yamaha PSR-540 for a while, as it has a reasonable price ($400-$500) and...

Korg A5 - impedance level question

The A5 has input and output volume controls, but the impedance level has to do with the electrical properties of the signal, not the volume. I know that you can line out from a pre-amp to a recording line in, but I don't know if the A4 (bass) or A5 (guitar) pedals knock down the impedance, or...

Aardvark Direct Pro 24/96 and older computer

The price is one of the main reasons I am planning to pick up the Aardvark 24/96. Another is the minimum requirements for both card and software (Cakewalk Pro Audio 9). If the system will not be of any use, I want to avoid making unnecessary upgrades and apply the funds toward a new computer...

Aardvark Direct Pro 24/96 and older computer

I'm just getting into computer recording, and I'm planning to pick up the Aardvark 24/96 card/interface combo. Initially, it will be running on a fairly low-end system. Both the 24/96 and Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 (which comes bundled with the 24/96) list minimum specs at or below the system's...

    VIA chipset question

I've been looking into either upgrading or getting a new computer, and I've heard about potential problems with the VIA chipset. What equipment/software has problems with the VIA chipset, and is there a workaround to avoid problems with it? It is a very popular chipset.

Korg A5 - impedance level question

I have a Korg A5 multi-effect guitar pedal. It is long discontinued, Korg has no information on their site about it, and I am not sure where the manual for it is. I was wondering if the A5 knocks the impedance of a guitar signal down enough to plug it into a line in for computer recording.
