I was just thinking...does anyone have insight as to how Peter Gabriel gets "that sound" on his vocal tracks? I can't describe it, but if you listen to his music, I think you will understand what I mean. I would love to know what effects he is layering to do that.

I am working on a cover of a song with some time signature changes, and some meter changes it appears. Has anyone used the Audiosnap feature in Sonar on an MP3, to get a base track laid down?

My first thought was that it was the sound card, because its on the mobo. But I have the same issue when I use the Mobile Pre on this machine. Sonar 7, all patches up to date.

I am finding this to be hugely true.

I've been retracking drums for some of my tunes. Last week we used 9 mics into a MOTU into Sonar. 2 overheads Condensor on tambourine Condensor on hi-hat 57's on rack toms ??? on floor tom A nice kick drum mic (??? model) 57's on top and bottom of snare (with bottom mic phased out at the DAW)

Well then...just double the first verse and chorus at the end, and you have a four minute song. :) Song length...I don't pay too much attention to it. Most of my songs come out at the 4-4:30 mark, but I have some that run 2-3, and some that run 8-10.
