My favorite of the Basses i have is an Ibanez SR506 with DX6 Active pickups. It has a few tweak controls so I can fiddle with that for the right sound I want when recording.

The 424 is only capable of midi sync if you use one track (4 i believe) and write MTC to it. You also need a converter of sorts so your sequencer can chase that signal. The 788 has a built in MTC/Midi Sync/etc generators, with regular MIDI ports so you can simply put it somewhere in your midi...

I have a QS8, so this might help a bit... You might have to tell the keyboard to use the serial port and not the midi port... (i'm not near my keyboard right now, I can't tell you the exact steps) But I believe its in the global setup options.
