faq nuts: an instrumental electronic thing

Thanks for that feedback guys. I'll do a re-mix this weekend and do something about the snares. Cool for the laser lights. I'll try it out with a flash light on the ceiling and move on to the planatarium or something bigger when I can get it right...;-)

    Live Synth, DR-008, or Soundfonts?

This sounds like a great idea! I don't have fruity, but I do have project 5. Will try it out sometime.

    Live Synth, DR-008, or Soundfonts?

Ed, I see what you mean. Once you bounce the sounds to tracks you hve full control. The way I work is to leave the bouncing to tracks proccess for the mixing stage. Your way does actually give you more control, as the samplers have only 4 audio outputs max to use effects. (not sure about Velo).

    Live Synth, DR-008, or Soundfonts?

I want to agree with moskus here. Using soundfonts is OK for general programming your composition. Once you want to mix down you'd like to have more control over each drum sound (panning, volume, eq, effects etc). A sampler like DR-008 works better.

    Drum Mapping Session Drummer

Could this be the problem? Once you bounce audio to track it is not midi anymore and you can not open it in piano roll. Look at track view and double click on the new bounced track. It should open in the waves view.

    tablature/fretboard view

I use the staff view often. It's the easiest way for me to program strings etc. The guitar tabs are also very usefull to program your guitar parts, especially bass guitar.

Sonar, Project 5 & Multi tracks

OK. I thought I'll share this with whoever cares after (trying) to read the thread by James. The thread is too confusing for me to follow, but James mentioned he wanted to process two identical audio tracks. Anyway, here goes... This tip is to double an audio track in Sonar to apply different...

VSC - set up individual volumes, or move each drum to dif't tracks...?

When you want to combine midi tracks, just click on a track with the mouse and drag it on top of the other one. Hold down shift while doping it to ensure it does not move in time. All clips will be layered on top of each other. You can mix them into one if you really want to, just click on the...

    Do you guys always upgrade?

Re: Re: Re: You know what... I never got infected yet, but that's because I keep my software up to date. I once got a virus from the drivers file on a CD distributed by a very well known keyboard manufacturer. My software kept the virus out. The company denied that they have a virus infected...

Re: You know what... That's an ABSOLUTE must. Upgrade your definitions every week. The %^$@ hackers come with new stuff daily.

    Do you guys always upgrade?

True. I also upgraded for one reason and is now finding the other goodies more usefull! About drum maps. I have one pain having to create drum maps for my CM SR202 banks. It's not hard to do (actually it's very easy), but it takes sooo much time to do them all

    cakewalk vst support

Here are some examples: Consol VST - Disable to load skin files CSL - Failed to load skin files Fxpansion DR002 - This application has failed to start because GuLib.dll was not found. Re-installing the applicatio may fix this problem (this one is strange as it comes from the same company)

    cakewalk vst support

I used Directixer for some time now. It worked very well. Got Project 5 with VST wrapper included this month. I'm now using both. -Some VSTs won't register in Directixer (duplicate keys). now I can register it in wrapper with no problem -Wrapper rejects even more VSTs with some message I don't...

    Do you guys always upgrade?

My call is: Upgrade when the new version will make life easier. The many benefits of the latest software is overwelming. I can not imagine a software studio without VST or DXi support any more. I don't think you can ecen use soundfonts without a soundblaster card in CW Pro. I upgraded to Sonar...
