Sonar piano roll view behaving badly

When I open piano roll view in Sonar (2.2) my piano keys pane that used to be on the left hand side of the view is hiding away. I can bring it back by dragging the borders around, but when I close the view and open it later, it is hiding again. Anybody knows how I can get the piano keys pane to...

Thanks Paul. That may be true. Drummers are very funny people. But then who needs drummers? (joke!)

A missing feature that I think hurts Sonar...

Cakewalk sells Pyro seperately to create CDs. On the topic of features in Sonar that are missing: I want a feature to increase font size of the markers in Sonar. When recording a guitar or whatever, you usually sit some small distance away from the screen and those small little fonts are...

    Free Midi drum click tracks

If click tracks are all you are looking for, use what comes for free with Sonar. I use the music lab looper with VSC. You do not have to like the VSC sounds to get a good click track, because hopefully you are not going to leave the click track in your final mix.

    BPM Calculator revisited.

I can give some advice on the first part of your post. If you get Akoff composer you do not need to enter the vocals into midi notes. Akoff converts wavs to midi for you. The second part of your problem is of great interest to me.I.e. how to fit the midi to the vocals bpm. I tried every way in...

    Splitting Soundfonts

Thought I'll comment. If you are cured from soundblaster, you can not use Vienna I think. I never had a soundblaster (and will probably never get one) and Vienna just refuses to install. I use Alive from Soundfaction. Very easy to use and does what you want to do with easy drags and drops. Not...

    Did I screw up??

NO, I dont't think so. You did not screw up. If you purchased it through the official web site you should get the full product. You paid less than I did (and I had Sonar 1.31) so congratulations. You just purchased the best piece of software around. Enjoy.

Using Project 5's Tempo Delay in Sonar

The tempo delay in P5 is very good. There are many, many other good things in P5 too, like the PSyn Synth. NPulse drum synth and many others.

    how to dither?

For a very good technical discussion of dithering, when to do it and why some methods are better, visit http://www.izotope.com and check out the dithering guide under ozone. I downloaded the guide and did not understand more than 3 words. The 3 I did understand was "never dither twice". Best to...

    Studioware design?

I did it mainly to controll certain functions that can only be done by means of Sysx, e.g. re-route more than 1 MIDI channel to one VSC part or change reverb type during playback. The other buttons like reverb etc is just to comlete it.

    Studioware design?

I made a studioware panel to play around with the VSC. The panels are not hardware dependant, as long as the CC's are the same (usually are standard). http://www.dog-on-blues.co.za/tips/vscsw/vscsw.html
