through the adat outs and ins. I'm going to assume you lack this connection since you had to ask.
You would be better off with something like this...
Tascam US-1641 - USB 2.0 Recording Interface US-1641 B&H Photo
Post up a sample of these drums, if you don't mind. I'm one of those guys with the kick mic investments (re20, d6, e902, d122) but have never heard the atm25
Nope you will be fine! The mbox is nice because it comes with protools and you can then crossgrade to protools 9 for super cheap if you want to down the line.
The microphone requires phantom power so an audio interface will be needed. The Mbox will accomplish this. Usb 1.1 will work fine on your computer. The only issue some people have with usb 1 is the audio comes in as one stereo track or two mono. Firewire and Usb 2.0 are able of sending many...
There's a delay on there too not just reverb. Also the reverb sounds slightly compressed. delay>reverb>compression. this is a random guess. it is more than one effect most likely though.
For harddrive just make sure it's firewire with 7200rpm. I really like lacie drives personally.
And the Digidesign Mbox 2 also has midi for 250. that would be a cheaper soultion. Also the new mbox the avid labeled ones also have midi.
distortion isn't going to make the kit sound better it will make it sound worse. Only way to make them sound good is good heads and tuning then good mic placement. The recorderman will give you great results.
