    How to limit toms?

Start with a better drum take perhaps? Make sure he knows you want a consistent level, he might be of the notion that decimating the drums will sound good in the studio because he's used to playing live.

How do I reduce distortion if my recording goes over 0 db?

After you've recorded everything to -12 to -18 dBFS or so, you should aim to bring your master stereo mix up closer to 0 right? In the final stage of mixing/mastering I mean.

Band Walks Into Your Studio...But doesnt know the tempo of the song....

Who says you need the tempo when you're recording a band? If they don't play to a click track, don't make them start the day they're recording a demo  And yes, arbitrarily rounding down/up the BPM can very much screw with the groove of a band.

Using my car to advertise my band and studio

No offense dude, but if you can get your rich parents to buy you a car like that, finding gold digging ho's should be no problem at all. Post a Craigslist ad lmao

    Mic placement Ideas?

I think pointing it at the soundhole is your bass problem. Have you tried a second mic angled more towards the 12th fretboard or bridge? Or angling the single mic a little differently?

    Mic placement Ideas?

Yep. That's the fun part of music production. Trying different things out to find your sound. There's so many variables to mic placement, that it makes more sense to just try out what you have with what you know and adjust accordingly.

Strange Question - Making an Audio File Play In E-mail?

No, you are right. Every e-mail system I know of would flag that as suspicious, at the very least, and block it from opening.

    Ezdrummer 'vs Real Drummer

That's my feeling on the subject in a nutshell. There's lots of indie folk/acoustic acts out there using sampled/electronic percussion and creating great rhythms. If you are "stuck" with using "fake" drums, embrace it and see what you can make it do for your music. Sometimes the robotic feel can...

Me again, another question, completely unrelated to the amp, Pro tools

Do you have an interface or no? A MIDI keyboard will be quite useless without one.

    Which MOUSE!?!

I use a cheap Logitech wireless USB mouse for graphics work which I need a LOT more precise control than audio editing, with no problems at all. I'd recheck your settings before you go plonking down a stupid amount of money for a mouse.

    Help choosing audio interface!

In the link you gave, they also diagnose and solve the problem...in a few different ways. Though I never tried it on drums, I can tell you the MOTU 896mk3 is a VERY nice interface at that pricepoint. I got it for a steal but never really needed all the inputs, so turned it over for a profit...

Best Virtual Instrument Set For My Needs

Personally I find the stock Kontakt library a little lacking. Since you mentioned the Beatles, have you checked out East West's "Fab Four" collection? Seems like it might get you started in the right direction, though it might be a little too specifically designed For drums, I always recommend...

    Drum Replacement Dilemma?

The replaced drums do have a nice bite to them. I'd keep them in. If they were paying customers I'd say swallow your pride or whatever you want to call it and do whatever they preferred, but since it's for experience and going to have your name on it out there...you want the best recording out...

Not enough inputs - help! (Not a noob question, either!)

And let me guess, he brought a super muddy, buzzy, muffled, low-tuned snare? lol

Sounds like the mic is 15 feet away!

You're thinking backwards. If you're getting enough "room" in the recorded audio that it sounds like the mic is 15 feet away, there is something wrong in the recording chain, not your room. More than likely, as a few people have said, either your microphone is backwards or your it is faulty...

    Waves bundle

    You're correct.

    What are PLUGINS?

Plugins are generally used in reference to effects. Though it is a catch-all term for VST/AU/DX etc programs that you open in your DAW, including instruments (or MIDI sounds).

Another quick one, what does a good steady distorted guitar track "LOOK" like

I would have figured it was just green. Maybe a bit of brown if it was cheap.

    Charging/Record Label

At that level of recording, I'd ask for a case of beer or something.

    Track seperation/clarity?

I can't believe nobody jumped on the "newbie using Waves plugins" attack bandwagon.
