Yes, everyone knows that Cedar's going for 300$/pound in the US. Thanks for your post, especially the mojopie link.

Shhh! I just bought two via mail order, don't get me nervous or anything. ;)

MK012 defect? Is this normal? Look at pic please.

Newbie Language! I was looking real closely at that picture -- is that.. plastic-looking circle around the nipple looking thing cracked as well? Compare to the other -10dB pad and find out.

According to that info, you have two of them -- just test it yourself -- try using the 'working' -10dB capsule and record, then record the same thing (hopefully!) with the scratched -10dB capsule. Use the same mic for this test. If you're worried about not being able to play the same thing...

    $200 to spend on mic(s)

Check out my recent post https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=111993 where I am asking for GCs that offer deals on MK319 or MK012, 2 for 99$. If there's a reply up there (1 as of the time I'm writing this), you could probably just call up the GC of your choice and have them...

    Req: GC 50$ MK-319/MK-012

Alright then, crazydoc's counted two infringements on me so far. Oddly, they've both dealt with numbers. It's amazing how my quickly-scribbled 8's look like 0's. The two circles of the 8 were on top of each other. I was dialing 375-3000! I've ordered the mics, and strangely, Ryan said he had...

    Req: GC 50$ MK-319/MK-012

I tried the GC at Phone: 602-375-3800 and it said the number was disconnected. I tried the alternate that was given by the operator, and it turned out to be "Lee's Locks" (sp?) or something to that effect. What number do you call for that GC?

    Req: GC 50$ MK-319/MK-012

I keep hearing mention of either the Oktava MK-319 or MK-012 being/going on sale for 50$ each at Guitar Center -- but unfortunately the 'local' GC "won't be selling them at that price again." So, this is a request to anyone out there who is fortunate enough to live near a GC who lets them go at...

    Price list?

If I were you... Go to any place online that ships internationally, such as musiciansfriend.com or something. The price posted will be in US$, so use a site like http://www.xe.com/ucc/ and convert the currency to CAN$. This is the amount they will charge your credit card. The NT-1 and NT-1A...

    Snare Freq?

    Snare Freq?

I'm trying to get out the snare buzz on a track I have. If I use the noise suppressor (which doesn't seem to work very well) I can get the buzz out, but most of the snare presence goes too, along with the cymbals. (Yeah, so I was stuck using 3 mics for a 4-piece band. Don't ask.) I could...

WTF! GC doesn't sell Oktava anymore?????

You could always online-order them. www.jrrshop.com has the mk012, 100$ each. Free shipping if you buy two.

Buying large diaphram condeser - HELP!

No, I don't have the MXL 990. You probably haven't heard of it because it's (reportedly) an MF exclusive. I know two people with that mic, and one suggests "Hell, for that price, buy two," and said it would make a good stereo pair (although they wouldn't be "matched.") I will be buying one...

Buying large diaphram condeser - HELP!

Have you looked at the MXL 990, from musiciansfriend (.com)? I've heard good reviews for that, it's 60$ (usually 70$), comes with a case and shockmount too. Maybe it'll tide you over until you could better afford the Blue.

    AKG C430 v Behringer B5

crazydoc, Where can one get the MK012 for 50$? Everywhere I've seen online (jrrshop, 8thstreet, musiciansfriend, zounds, americanmusical, etc) sells them for 100$. Same price as the MK-319.

    Frequency Response Q

On this datasheet for the AKG C430(pdf) http://www.akg.com/mediendatenbank/psdoc/mediafile/74/import3fa2695c67fb6.pdf There's the solid line, like I'm accustomed to. And the dotted line way below everything..... what's that mean?

    AKG C430 v Behringer B5

I'm deciding between the AKG C430 and Behringer B5 (I am going to buy them as pairs). Since I have *no* small-diaphragm condenser mics and want to use overheads for my drumkit, I need to get some! But, I want something versatile. If it just works as an overhead, bleh. Not a big price...
