HR Members guitar design and build thread

Since you gave a little extra time, I've decided to vote for set neck. As for body design, I kinda like Music Man, and Fernandez had good looking surfer-type guitars. Just throwing ideas out there. I have a Vega, if anyone's ever heard of them, and it's best looking guitar ever, IMO. I'm off to...

    output lvl problems help plz

This might sound sarcastic, but it's often the "right" one. Unless you have excessive noise on your tracks, there's usually no need to worry. If your monitors are already maxed out, and it's still not at a level you can mix at, then you may have a problem

If we're to that point yet, my vote is "anything but neck-thru." Based on this thread, and that thread from forever ago about set vs. bolt on necks, I don't care. I don't see enough reason to have a neck-thru, other than the cool factor. If Mutt just wants to cover it up to add stability...

    My Girlfriend's first track

Also, I can't remember who mentioned it but, an interlude or break would do well for this song. It feels like it's over too soon. It could just be an instrumental break, or some "ooh, aah's". Nothing spectacular, but I would like it to go on another 15-30 seconds or so

What about the wood? Having three seperate pieces of wood would affect sustain and...other stuff, right?

What are the pros and cons of set neck/neck-thru, aside from neck thru guitars looking better? Sound of the wood? Sturdiness? Etc.? I don't think about this stuff even when buying a guitar.

What's the standard neck size for a 24 fret guitar? There's my vote, cuz the extra frets come in handy. Or whichever neck is needed to get the proper tension for heavier strings I've never given much thought to necks before, but this is a cool learning experience for me.

[WTA] Rules & Regulation of Covering a song?

Damn, that sucks. Thanks for the heads up. I'm almost positive most of the "venues"(bars) I play don't have that license

Yea...a shitty one:D But seriously, it would be way easier to build an amazing electric than it would to build a mediocre acoustic...I would imagine, anyway

    My Girlfriend's first track

I've listened to this a few times now, and held off on commenting, cuz I thought my laptop speakers were blown, but... ...the guitar sounds muffled or something. Like you recorded to tape and were a little too hot. It gives it a lo-fi quality. I'm into lo-fi, and got that vibe from it, but was...

[WTA] Rules & Regulation of Covering a song?

Soooo....lemme get this straight the venue I perform a cover in is responsible for covering any lawsuits that may or may not arise?...and the same should apply for YT, right? I was always under the assumption that, as long as I didn't make money selling another artists material, or claim it...

Cheap But Good Acoustic Guitar Recomendations?

...but if anyone happens to find a Takamine for cheap, hit me up. All the ones I've played were super expensive...and sounded like it

Cheap But Good Acoustic Guitar Recomendations?

Ummm...they're made of plastic:D Applause(by Ovation) are tunable, playable guitars for next to nothing new. Also, Alverez guitars sound surprisingly good for the money, if you stick to playing cowboy chords. They seem to all have the same inherent intonation problem. I personally like...

    dark hollow

this is a good tune. Liked it a lot. I'd like to hear the "lead" guitar a little more, and maybe slightly less bass. it's more of a personal preference, tho

EQ, eh?....damn as for 16 guitars, it's only on the albums. there may actually be more, but that's what I can hear the arrangement is corret(more or less). my internet and recording space are in 2 different places, so until I get something saved to CD, I won't be uploading anything. the song...

    making space

I'm having trouble getting guitars to "play nice" together on my imaginary stage. I'm experimenting with a Smashing Pumpkins cover, and there are TONS of layered guitars(16 tracks of guitars and counting). I'm getting a good sound from the guitars without any EQ, and frankly, I would like to EQ...
