I'm still pretty interested to see where this guitar will end up, too. it's slow going, but there are a few good ideas getting kicked around, with several good opinions to support them. are we still deciding on chambered vs. solid body? I vote solid, for the sake of being a more solid guitar...

    Fender Stratocaster Jim Root

this, or couldn't you even buy the parts seperately and assemble it(or something very similar?) yourself for less money? I found a site some time ago that sold bodies, necks, electronics, hardware, and everything else you might need to build your own guitar. you could probably build a guitar...

what are the pros and cons of a chambered body? it almost seems counter-productive to have a neck-thru and chambered body. may be just me. I'm gonna see what info I can find on chambered guitars

Looking For "Bullett-Proof" 212 Guitar Combo

anything solid-state Peavey or Laney would be my "go-to" amps, if I were basing it on durability alone. the newer stuff actually sounds decent, too

DAW users- where are your old standalones now?

I have and use my Korg D3200 almost every day. I prefer the 'hands on' feel standalones have to point and click of DAWs. I guess one day, I'll use it as an interface, but for now I'll stick to the studio-in-a-box

I agree with you here. I like Milnoque's concept, especially the one on the far right. looks like a good starting point to me

My vote is something along the lines of the Surfcaster, but spice it up a bit. Like make the curves slightly more dramatic, maybe? I'm not really digging the chambered or hollow body idea. Keep as much wood as possible. I hear Gibson just got rid of a bunch of good wood :D

Are we still picking a body design? I've been out of the loop for a while?

    making space

it's not really so much about 12 guitars all playing at the same time, as it is there being a lot of changes in the song, and three or four lead/solo parts I can't find a link on YT to the song...except for live, and it's nowhere near as complex. plenty of other album versions of songs off...

I like the concept, but there are a few things I don't like -it looks like a scaled-down guitar, which I'm not a fan of. the body is just a little too small -access to the upper frets looks like it might be compromised, with the top of the body coming up six full frets -the headstock is goofy...

nope, that's pretty terrible. I wasn't comparing the Vega to the Airline, but the mystery Fernandes that I can't seem to find. just noting that the Vega has a really cool body. I agree with Greg, tho. it might be a little too rounded. now that I think abou it, it was a little tough getting to...

this is the vega I can't find the Fernandes that I was thinking of on their site. maybe it's discontinued or something. no matter, the Vega is an awesome style, but it's a neck-thru

Actually, that Airline reminds me of those Fernandez guitars I was thinking of, only a little more jagged
