I've always thought it would be cool to have a wooden 'wall of guitars' display unit, like you see in this pic.....is there a place for a non-business (indvidual) to buy something like that, or maybe plans to make something similar? So much more cooler than a mounting a guit holder to a plain...
For the first time , I feel like I can pull off decent drumtracks (although nothing TOO elaborate :D) since getting this, .....

...it comes with 230 megs of DFH Superior samples (super sounding!)....I've found that what I can't nail...
I concur!...Back it went, ....and in it's place I got a Korg padKontrol, fantastic! It comes with a 230 meg demo kit of dfh's drums. Best sounding drums I've heard , setup was pretty painless compared to the Akai, and the sensitivity of the pads is great...
well that's good to know then...I wasn't using a software sampler, just loading the soundfonts inside SONAR,...I'm also thinking about purchasing EZ Drummer, and I wonder if the velocities or input sensitivity can or has to be mapped as you say for that?...
are you able to adjust the pad sensitivity ok without the USB utility?...I've fumbled with the '16 levels' button, but haven't gotten the results I want, but it may be the simplistic drum soundfont samples I was using....
woes continue....
well, things are not any better after about 12 hrs or so of 'troubleshooting' lol...after believing I had the power issue sorted out, a much worse software catastrophe occured! , then more original troubles.....Here's the details , if yer interested :D....
so after seeing the...
yes the port is built into the mobo...I'm thinking you may be right about pulling the non-essential cards, because it did power up on the much older pc (Abit BH-6!), with no peripherals....
I have an Akai MPD16 pad, that can run off USB power...I couldn't get it to power up in either USB ports on the PC...Akai support says it's very possible the ports aren't supplying enough juice to power it...I thought this sounded fishy , until I tried the box on an older pc with no peripherals...
I agree with you, but it's not a practical thing for alot of folks....any thoughts on isolation cabs, like this?
AxeTrak ...seems like it would solve the loudness issue, but the speaker looks awfully small!
interesting...also, I notice you said you have YSM-1 p's, happy with them?...I'm assuming those are the powered version? I've had the Yorkville passive YSM-1 for years, and I'm thinking I should go powered, 'cause I've used a lame old Sony receiver as a power amp...maybe I should keep 'em and...
Pv!
3 years later, my $80 Peavey Raptor Plus from a pawn shop has effectively shut down gas for (nearly) any guitar , so another vote fer Peevee LOL :D ...yes, I know this sound nutz, but consider....real wood body, oversized pickup magents (similar to Tom Andersons), heavy duty Fenderlike...
I bought xp pro oem (pc club) a couple months ago, and it came with a voucher for a free upgrade to Vista...figure I could dual boot and check it out (and wait for all the vendors to get their drivers and such up to Vista snuff) while still recording in xp....
things like making lead tracks sound more realistic...'verb or eq settings for simulating a live mic'd cabinet...creative ways of sending the guitar signal simultaneously into two devices ,etc...anyone ever read that article about how SRV got alot of his recorded tones on his last studio album...
do those auralex foam monitor pads really make a difference? ...if they do, I'm wondering if a freebie alternative of sticking a rubbery mousepad under the monitors would have the same effect?
getting an Akai finger trigger pad, and would like to mount it on some sort of adjustable stand or something, ...something compact enough to slide under my home studio desk when no in use...i've seen pics of what looks like a snare stand being used......btw, check out this vid...pretty amazing...
O wait...I had already seen those, the problem is getting the Wavestation AND Poly-Six in a single package, like the demo I have without having to buy BOTH packages..grr
