    Summer Song

Sorry. Posted to a new topic. It was rude of me. [This message has been edited by ishou (edited 07-24-2000).]

    Overdriven 4-track?

Well, my recordings aren't sounding like I want them to, and I want to make sure it's not the 4-track. Is it possible to overdrive the preamps by putting very loud signals through them? Like if I ran something really really loud (like uh a power amp out) through the 4-track, could I overload it...

    Overdriven 4-track?

I have a suspicion that my TASCAM 424's circuitry may have been damaged due to overdriving it. Is there some way that I can test for this? Because I'm not entirely sure if it is or not. And if it is broken, how do I fix it? Or do I need to (gasp) buy a new one? Thanks, --ishou [This message...

    Guitar sounds kinda crappy...

(Sorry, didn't have the file up on the internet before... oops! it's there now) I'm recording onto my TASCAM 4 track, and I can't seem to get it to sound right! http://www.dranger.com/test.wav I'm micing my Fender Stage 112 with an SM57, about .5 inch away from the grill. It sounds muddy, like...

    My first submission

Thanks a whole lot guys- Yeah, timing was really off - we recorded this in a real hurry. I'm doing a new batch of songs, and I've improved a lot of things. One is using a metronome. I've redone the encoding - thanks, drstrawl. The guitar in watchtower was never recorded during the parts where...

    My first submission

This is my first MP3 submission to this BBS. These songs were recorded a year ago by my high school garage band in response to our unfair defeat in the school's talent show. They were recorded with only 3 Shure mics (not SM5x's though) we borrowed from the stage, my TASCAM 424MKII, and a ZOOM...

    Portable Studio Enclosure?

Thanks Tim, What I'm trying to do is A) Make my recording enviroment sound nice, as opposed to the crappy flutter echo present in my big barn, and B) keep other instruments out of there! So, yes, i see that B) is fullfilled by this. I also want to use it for voice, cause i hear a nice studio...

    Portable Studio Enclosure?

I am a very poor home recordist (is that a word?) and the only place I have around here to do anything is in my barn, which sounds really really quite nasty to record in. So, here's my idea: I will build an enclosure, big enough for say, a drum set. The walls will be made of sound deadening...
