All my final masters are very quiet compared to other CD's, and whenever i try to turn it up that loud, it starts clipping. What do I do to get it to that volume, am I possibly doing anything wrong? Thanks! -Steve

I have active monitors so there really is no use for a power amp in my situation?

Hey, I'm currently in the process of getting a mixer for my studio. I'm getting the Allen & Heath ZED-22FX and I was wondering if since it's unpowered, and I'm using it for a studio, do I need to get a power amp still or does it not matter since it's going into an audio interface? Thanks! -Steve

here are some good mics you might wanna invest in: Kick: Audix D6 Snare: SM57 Toms: Sennheiser e604's your overheads are good those mics should get you a good drum sound once you practice with placement and whatnot. :)

its electronic drums, you'll have to try very hard to get that sound because its all computerized. good luck haha

I record mainly heavier/edgier stuff including Punk, Metal, Hardcore, Pop Punk, etc. I use 8 mics at the most simultaneously and budget wise, I don't really have one, but preferably nothing over $500

I record in my basement (what else is new), and the walls are insolated, so I have non-dry walls, so I can't put up any acoustics for acoustic treatments. Are insolated walls okay, or is there any alternative, or should I just straight up change where I'm recording? Thanks! -Steve

I'm having a very very difficult time figuring out how to get that clicky, almost watery-wet sounding bass drum sound commonly used in metal and punk. Boosting high frequencies makes it sound almost worse so I'm wondering if its something to do with the tuning of the bass drum or anything else...
