hey claude..the best way to record a electric guitar is micing the speaker with a sm-57....or get a line 6 POD...those are pretty cool...as for accoustic guitars...condensers are the best...look around this site..theres a ton of great info ...and dragon has a whole page dedicated to tascam...

hi JP...im a newbie too...but from what i understand the minidisk format is fairly compressed which means you lose fidelity along the way....but i could be wrong...i have a fostex FD-8 with a 250 zip drive and so far i love it...they also make a four track version...try looking around...

hi...quick question...my 8 track manual says odd tracks pan left and even tracks pan right...but if im only recording one track at a time....can i just leave the pan knob in the center?...even if i do pan to the left or rightwhen i listen back it still comes out of both speakers..so isnt that...

thanks Ameth...i think its a little clearer...the best way for me to learn i guess is to just keep expiermenting...I wish the owners manuals were a bit clearer..they tell ya what to do...but i like to understand WHY...oh well..ill catch on...thanks again spin

thank you very much for helping me out..that solved my problem..i didnt realize my machine only recorded 2 tracks at a time..one thing ya said im still not sure i get..you said use the "direct feature" does that mean when im only recording one track at a time i dont need to pan the bus to the...

hi...about 8th street...i go to thier site all the time for prices..ive never bought anything from them..but they have the LOWESTS prices ive ever seen...so i print out the web page and take it to my local music store...and ask them to match the price...and they always do....if they ever cant...
