some computers come with an audio interface ffor computer mics and such, but they have a really crappy pre-amp and soundcard. you'll need to buy a seperate one. The mixer would hook up to the interface's line in.
Or, if you wanna go this route, don't get an audio interface, just install a...
Assuming that his on-board soundcard has mic inputs. When I got this computer, it didn't. I've never seen one that comes with a soundcard with mic inputs.
If it doesn't, which I would assume it doesn't, I think Mackie has a line of mixers that can connect to your computer via USB and Firewire.
I'm CERTAINLY not an expert, but I'll do my best trying to explain it.
Theres two types of montors[ speakers]. Active and Passive. Actives are able to power themselves once you hook 'em up. Passive monitors, however, are not able to power themselves. Thats when you buy a power amp to distribute...
At the beginning of "Lose yourself", by Eminem, there's two instruments two instruments playing. One's a piano. The other is some kind of synth. Whats the name for that synth sound, and is there a free vsti that can make that same sound or something similar I can download?

Whenever I run a track through the bit crusher, instead of having it panned hard right, like it originally was, it plays straight down the center. I looked for a pan control is the bit crusher's edit panel, but i didn't see one. Is there any way I can have the track run through the bit crusher...
Okay, so yesterday I did something so that my transport panel just displays time, just to see what it looked like. Well, I need it back to set my left and right locators, and I can't figure out how to get it back to normal. Anyone care to help out a technically challenged newbie?
Yeah, when I freeze a couple tracks it runs ok. I just wish I could listen to all the tracks playback at once.
Will I hear a large difference in quality if I record at 44.1 instead of 96?
Just say I took a whole bunch of my computer, not that i actually can, but if I did, when the software...
Shit. I just went through a huge ordeal to get my software on the same drive as where I record my songs, and I can't really start recording my soongs to my other drive because it's jam packed.
I increased my buffer size, but it didn't help.
I have 512 mb of ram, and thats all it can hold.
Yeah, but, like i said, when I put it down to 44.1, my audio tracks are all out of sync. They don't play at the write times and they go incredibly slow to the point where the pitch lowers.
These are the specs i know of: I have a 1.50 gig pentium 4 processor, and I have 512 mb of ram. My computer is deifintely not all dedicated to music, but I have my recording stuff on the D drive, and the majority of other stuff is on the C Drive. I have stuff like Sysmantec Ant-Virus, Microsoft...
