I did not post not to change caps, but they are a TASTE issue. If I was changing parts I might change a few things If you google etc you might find schematics mods threads etc at other sites.

as posted above moisture can be the cause. The 67 capsule has a clear area where there is no gold at the edge. If dust,dirt,smoke etc settles in that area and moisture makes it wet it will bleed off the capsule charge causing noise and low output. Google cleaning capsules

don't use wd40 on tube pins in a microphone. Anthing that hold dust etc can form a leakage path and cause noise. I will clean a tubes base and pins with distilled water a few times and let it dry. Next always let a tube run a few hours if it has not been used for sometime. Let the oxides...
