    help with fruity loops

I'm interested in this too... I'm learning to work with fruity loops on short term. (Gotta have about an hour done next week  ) I'm using different time signatures all the time. 5/4 and other stuff. Starting from version 4 you can change the number of steps of the step sequencer, but I...

    theory/chord question

This is indeed just a D chord, with F# as it's root. In fact, it's noted D/F# instead of the other way around, so that's chord/root. A chord can be named different things. There's no difference between C/A (a-c-e-g) and Am7 (also a-c-e-g), from a practical point of view. The difference would be...

    Chord book suggestions?

Study music theory! What you really need in this case is a good foundation of jazz harmony. Functional harmony, what is the function of each chord, which chords can be found in which scale and vice versa... You shouldn't look at guitar-related books for this. Most good harmony books are just...

Maybe, they just shouldn't MAKE ANY LISTS????

    Software samplers?

NOPE! My soundcard doesn't support GSIF drivers, so no gigasampler. And I don't care about samples, I'll make my own...

    Chord book suggestions?

Ted Greene's chord chemistry got about any chord you can possibly fret in it... But the best thing to do would be a jazz harmony course I guess... Start playing triads, guide tones on progressions, the normal jazzexercises. I don't know a book that guides you in that. This will help you build...

    Mixing with the band

Lol. As a live mixer mostly, I kinda learned to live with it. :D

    the greastest guitarist of all

If I was to make a list, it would be what I have to do this week. Making lists is a waste of time. Instead of making lists, go practice. If you're making lists, you've got ALOT to learn about music. Now stop this thread. It's silly.

    the greastest guitarist of all

This list is about as ridiculous as any other list would be, even if it had the right guy at the top, and all the guys you know in it. Music is not competition, if you want a score and know who's best, go watch a boring sports-show. Musicians get good, but not better than anyone else. If...

    DJ techniques/posibillities in live band....

Well, the idea is that I do some basic programming beginning of this week, then I go to his place, we try some stuff. Then on thursday we meet up with our saxplayer, we jam around a bit, and after that the saxplayer and me (both kinda educated musicians) will start writing bigtime, we do 3 more...

    DJ techniques/posibillities in live band....

Hej, I have a gig with a DJ on 20/9. We're about to start writing our music, but we have just a mere idea of what the possibilities of an intermediate DJ are. I know he can scratch, have a dry beat (no bass or other instruments) going, do some small samples in between, construct a beat out of...

    Software samplers?

I've been looking into those too. Gotta look into it a bit further. Anyone has experience with it? I just HAVE to be sure that I can use it in the way described above. They can only be used as plugins right? Not that that is a problem, but a standalone application like the nemisys would be...

    Software samplers?

I'm looking for some software that can turn my pc in a sampler. So, I connect my keyboard to my pc via my audiophile midi in, play a note, and the samplersoft makes the pc act like a hardware sampler.... I might be able to get a sampler on loan for the coming weeks, but this would be a good...

    Software samplers?

Can you use CEP as a sampler? I mean, connect a keyboard and trigger the sounds from it? I really need this, being able to play the sounds when I push a key, and program a different sound to every key... I thought CEP was some kind of sound editing/multitracking tool?

    Software samplers?

I'm thinking of getting a software sampler, for live use with my laptop. Mainly for doing soundscapes and the likes. It's gotta be able to run a few quite long samples simulteniously, the usual functionallities of triggering etc (full playback or untill I release the note, loop, play once...

Please ID these mics from live shows

That's NOT TRUE! Damn, I'm never gonna joke around with my location again to impress some girl that doesn't even know about the existence of this site. Not that it makes any sense to do that. I live in Belgium. That's the capital of Brussels. :D

Can I make a PRO mix with A Behringer Board?

I mixed on them live... Worst case I had was were to identical mics were placed on the same amp, and I got 2 complete different sounds. One of the pre's was probably smoked. There were more channels that had this problem. And that's a bitch to mix on... As long as they are fully functional, they...

    Does Behringer Gear TOTALLY SUCK!!??

Their DI's are also ok for live use. Never had a chance to compare them to something else though. M Havlen, their mixers suck. Believe me. If your lucky, it will live long enough to be of good use. I have worked MANY behringer mixer already, and I know just one that is still fully functional...
