Roland makes an interface, the Rubix44. A number of people have complained about this: "" ......the problem is that under Windows the interface will not work simultaneously with ASIO and Windows system sound; you have to unplug and replug, which is like a stone age solution. Why Roland did...
I understand (rightly or wrongly) that the DAW being on the same drive as data files is a bad idea because reading from the DAW files and writing data files back to the same drive can cause bottlenecks, eh? If second party VSTs (and not a zillion of them) are on the main drive with the DAW...
I'm not sure if you are referring to NI plugins or second-party ones. I know some other vendors write stuff which works only on the paid Kontakt. I notice that the free Kontakt works with Windows 7 and the paid version is W10 only, maybe that is the difference.
I see that Komplete 13 is on for about $200, and includes everything but a cow. Guitar Rig, Kontact, a zillion synths, etc, pianos, effects...... I think I'll do that. .... Pause... Is there any reason that it would not have fun with an older Studio One version, 2.65?
DO you use Kontakt's libraries? Which types? Do you make your own samples, or use samples from other vendors? What do you like or dislike about it.
I have an old Kontakt, and I am considering upgrading to K 6. I am wondering how the current quality of the stuff is, and whether most folks...
I first started recording through a Presonus AudioBox. After a bit I got an RME Babyface. When I finished my first song, I was rather satisfied with it, the main non-vocal track being a soft and jangling rhythmic Stratocaster track with reverb. I had done a lot of messing on the Babyface, but...
I'm working out certain changes to my equipment and methods, and it occurs to me that perhaps moving stuff around from one drive to another is not as easy as ABC. Can all that
licensed stuff simply be copied, or do some things need installing on a new drive or..... what? I'm not computerish...
I've not used Ableton and I think that I would like to use it at least experimentally and perhaps make it part of my work system (Studio One.) I would start with Intro version to see if I like it at all. I run Windows 7, so Live 10 and 9 are available, the latter at a store near me, boxed...
Thanks for that. I have to pick up a bass at the local music store, so I have ordered a Truetone OneSpot, which happens to be on sale. Also, I'll have to keep a closer eye on the power requirements [AC/DC] of pedals 'm looking at, and inspect the ones I already own.
Thanks very much, Gtoboy. Of course, your reply raises more questions :<) -
1) Could you give an example of a power supply, or a price range, which you think of acceptable quality?
2) Do you, or do many people (in your experience) use the rechargeable battery type? As wikipedia says:
""The...
I have never used a pedalboard and know nothing about them. I am now changing my recording methods a bit and a pedalboard seems to perhaps be a good idea, rather than kicking a number of pedals around on a concrete floor. I am unlikely to use a pedal or pedals on each and every recording. I...
