cheap but quality usb 3 interface

Thanks David, usb 2 would be cheaper and for a temp fix til the Fireface is back in action on a real DAW. A An "economy" usb 2 may be the less expensive solution. I posted earlier (yesterday, Texas time :0 ) that I use the daw for mixing more than tracking but I would like to do some overdubs...

cheap but quality usb 3 interface

I posted on this forum about my computer woes. What would you suggest as a simple and inexpensive usb 3 interface. For now a two input with "adequate" mic pre's and two line inputs. I have decent stand alone mic pre's that will provide line outputs. I just need something that will get the...

    firewire to usb 3 adapter

yep, that's what I have gathered. Just hopeful thinking. I will just have to save up $ until I can afford new desktop . Need lappy to do so. Until then the amp build and wood-shedding are gonna have to do. Probably better in the long run as better chops make better recordings. I may look at an...

    firewire to usb 3 adapter

Does this exist and does it work? Yes, I did a "google". Short story: I had to purchase a laptop. No firewire port or pci/e option. Work computer but until I cannot $$$$ up for a new desktop dedicated to audio (yet). That is a long story. My interface is s fireface 400. I will buy a new desktop...

    Any Superbaby owners out there?

I hope there are. I enjoy mine. THere are a few threads dating back 2007 or so but not much these days. THe amp sounds good through diiff cabs and the tube swapping is very fun. Currently the 5y3, 6v6, 12ax7a sounds nice as does the KT77 with tighter rectifier. Thoughts. Lots of questions about...

It is the season for new PC, reccomendations?

PC died... Time for new machine for use as daw. I am looking for a solid PC platform that is fast and reliable. Most of the use will be mixing a typical project of 64 to 100 tracks in addition to 100+ plugs. (most low cpu eq, comp etc.) Yeah that is a lot but most are basic hi pass and or mild...

    200 Tracks?!

Usually around 48-60 when counting samples and buss plus submixes. I started on analog 8 track then over the years moved to 16, then 24 then 48 individual recorded tracks. When mixing the number expanded to what was available. The daw world has really gone a bit nuts. "But in the end" (que...

High end preamps, are they worth it?

Signal chain, signal flow is where it is at. Garbage in garbage out. A high end pre will not fix a poor mic choice or poor performance. I love great pre's but without the right stuff in front you are f****ed. I have heard fine recordings done with very cheap pre's; ys the s/n ratios are...

    Daw Choice

big reaper fan but... Reaper has a huge learing curve. For me it was easy, as it sets up well as a tradtional mixing desk style from the analog days (when I learned). I think you may want to check out Cubase. I have problems with the program because it is different from the way I work. One of...

    Focusrite Preamp

Looks like you do not need another interface just a preamp. I recommend the RNP (appropriately name d, Really Nice Preamp),Google it. a bit more expensive but very nice. You will get good results and it is a quality bit of kit. Save up those pennies.
