    Making My Own Drum Patterns

That's what I'm doing now in Mixcraft 5 but, I'd like to try to automate it. But, it does the trick....for now!

    Making My Own Drum Patterns

Richie.....funny you should say that! On an earlier recommendation from you, I DL'd Mixcraft 5 trial version and liked it so much, I bought the box version a couple of days later. I find myself needing to create some drum tracks as well and just the DL'd Beatcraft trial version yesterday. I...

    Mixcraft 5 !! Problem With input !!

Click on the drop down arrow to the right of the "arm" button. Select the channel you're NOT hearing. Done. BTW....I started using Mixcraft 5 in June and love how easy to use it is. Their online Tech Support is very good as well.

Should I take online recording classes or learn on my own?

Guitar Center has holds a series of four free home recording workshops on Saturdays at 10am. They're free and are a great way to get an intro to home recording. Check their website. You'll see Home Recording Workshops listed in the LH side. Each weeks topic is listed inside. You don't have...

    Midi keyboard - 25-key vs 49-key?

I'm using Mixcraft 5 as well. It's a great program. Don't see the need for anything else! I have an M-Audio KeyRig49 for regular keyboard type MIDI work and a small, compact ION Discover 25 mini-key from Musicians Friend for $29. I use it to beat out drum tracks and, if I need to take it...

Does anyone still enjoying and using their all-in-one multi-track recorders?

I still use my Boss Micro BR to record band rehearsals regularly.

New to home recording-need basic advice!!!

If you've got a Guitar Center nearby, they hold a series of four, free, one hour recording workshops on Saturday mornings. There are four different subject areas they cover and they just continually rotate them. They're not high pressure sales pitches and they take you through the recording...

    Multi-Track

Sound quality is pretty good. I just recently ordered an external Tascam condensor mic for it that uses the built in "plug-in power" feature. It's similar to phantom power and used in some micro size recorders. It's handy cause I can throw it in my gig bag and, with a 1Gb Smart Card and AC...

    portable multi track recorders

There are a couple of things you need top decide first. What do you want to accomplish with it? What's your budget? My 5 year old Boss Micro BR works great for what I use it for......recording band rehearsals. I then transfer it to my DAW, edit out the junk and dead space and make copies for...

need some recommendations for recording demos

My best advice to you is.....before you spend ANY money. Get a better, basic understanding of what multi-track recording is, how it works and what it is you're trying to accomplish with it. I'm getting the impression that you haven't really done that yet. Equipment can range from relatively...

need some recommendations for recording demos

I bought my Boss Micro used for about $65. Works great for what I use it for....band rehearsals and quick ideas. Though is has the capability to record multiple tracks and do mix downs as well, there's NO way I could conceive of even wanting to attempt to mix down demos on it. IMHO, a...

need some recommendations for recording demos

Before you spend any money, you're going to have to define what you mean as a "demo". If you're just passing out recordings to band members, a standalone recorder will suffice. If you're intention is to "demo" your songs to club and bar owners or, the general public then no, a standalone...

    music computer

There's not alot of difference between off the shelf, store-bought systems anymore. If you have a budget and the system requirements in hand, it's time to go shopping........the biggest bang for the buck is additional memory.

    [HELP] Studio monitors

I have a pair of the Behringer Ms16's and they're just meh.......they're basically multi-media speakers and, with the purchase of a used pair of M-Audio AV-40's, that's what they're being used as. Other than that, all I can say is my interface, monitors and MIDI keyboard are all M-Audio...
