What do you think of this techno master?

OSHC, nice job. This track maintained its energy throughout. Reminds my of a Hybrid remix CD from years ago, remixes from BT, Moby, Filter. Well worth the listen, in fact I am going for another listen. cheers.

Compensating for one's normal age-related high-frequency hearing loss...

Age 63, I took a test and my hearing tails off pretty much over 8k. I also have tinnitus which is probably a symptom of the high frequency hearing loss. The challenge comes when mixing, there is a tendency to level up the higher frequencies. I end up using some visual aids (Voxengo Span, Waves...

Dumbass questions about gainstaging - help or point me where to go!

There could be a number of reasons why. Do you have a consistent method to begin the mixdown process? Many people have different methods but here is my process. First, you should have individual tracks you are ready to commit to the mixdown. As long as the individual track is not clipping, you...

i think my track is finished ?

I think you would be better served with an inexpensive midi keyboard that has full size keys. If you don't want to spend for new, there are plenty of used options on Ebay or Facebook Marketplace. 4 octaves with pitchbend and modwheel should allow you to do what you want. They generally just...

How do I "learn" my new monitors...

I am challenged with the same issue. I mainly track, edit and start the process with headphones then switch to monitors . For me (these tips may not work for everyone), I like to start the balancing process in mono and at a low volume. Monitors are great for exposing resonances that my...

    editing with headphones

The direct answer is, there is not a universally acknowledged model of headphone to use as a monitor for mixing that sounds good on all audio systems. However, many people, including myself, use good headphones for much of the mixing process. I have Beyerdynamic 990 pros and Sonarworks...

monitors placement in a small (10'x10') room

My room is also 10x10 with the JBL305's. Not much choice on placement. I did get a couple ATS panels that help.

"Still Got Me" Now with vocals

Vocals are great and work nice with the vibe of the song. Almost a "Barenaked Ladies" feel, upbeat. The core elements (drums, bass, guitar, and vocals) seem nicely balanced. The vocals maybe up a little, just enough to equal the guitar that drops way during the lyrics.

    My apologies Donna Summer

The song is really good, I agree with Nola. It is a Beck-ish vibe buried in compression. I listen a couple times, pretty catchy.

    PC requirements

+1 ^^^^^ Any good modern build would be capable of doing what you need... an i5 or i7 processor. Decent ASUS, Intel MOBO with as much RAM as you can afford. I have an SSD for the operating system, an SSD for tracks and a SATA for libraries and back up installation files. As stated above, a quiet...
