rOn.KnOb Side Two
Here's two minutes of what we came up with this evening. I kind of like it...
rOn.KnOb Side Two
This one just uses four of the eight available steps on the CS-30's sequencer before it cycles around again. The booming bottom end has gone. It was the spring reverb. Invoking...
Man, this has proven to be harder than we thought it would be. We really don't know enough about synthesizer theory to create something really 'tuneful' yet. It's better than our earlier effort though. So far we've managed thirty minutes of this kind of stuff on the old synth (don't worry :)...
Hurrah. I'd been wondering how you were getting along with that project Hermann. It's nice to have success. We'll look forward to hearing some 14 track tunes soon I hope. :)
rOn.KnOb's next 'direct to cassette' all analog synth effort...
Here's two packs of new C60 chromes just arrived this afternoon from the supplier for rOn's next attempt at a free form, live to two track cassette recording using the old Yamaha CS30 mono synth. It'll be the first cassette release...
If it's from a device that's used in music in some way Cory ah, erm, um, perhaps it's just trying to whistle?.... :)
(Sorry 'bout that one but it's the last working day of the year before the summer break down here and I've got nothing better to do) :o
Man, I go round and round on this one with my BR1600's. Should I finally ditch them and go the interface / DAW / computer route or should I just stick with the things.
I've finally decided to stick with them, sync'd together for 16 tracks in and 32 out. Even their 16 bit limitations no longer...
Ah, erm, dodging the bleed from these big motherfuckers as they come across my attic roof at fifteen hundred feet when I'm tracking something acoustic with microphones. D'oh!
Here's the 3:15 to LA going past this afternoon.
I've been thinking about doing this for a while now. It's been possible for a number of years but not really worth it until the 2nd hand price of these machines came down. With them to be had now in the $US500-$700 price range it now starts to get feasible. One midi cable later and they're all...
Hmm, I have been down the back this morning and consulted the recording oracles on this one...
On the matter of the M520 and it's unbalanced direct outs they said "brrrrraaarrrrkkkkk and thanks for the seed bells"
:p
Digital video of an analog recording
Digital video of an analog recording (just to keep Dodge happy about the post count here)...
Here's one of the me's showing how much I don't know about this old Yamaha CS-30 synth of mine....
:o
Go here then young man and to find out all what you'll need to know about this truly black art...

:)
You will also need a gazillion schmoolies.
Unless you go second hand off eBay, probably not. I use a Fostex CR500 master recorder and it's a good thing with many uses including being able to burn 96/24 BWF's. Well over $500 but.
Season greetings friends. I've had a lot of fun in '09 and it's been good to be involved with all you crazy cats. Here's the recorded output so far. I'm quite happy with all this lot...
1. "Fast Food" mono cassette one mike Lonely Few cassette recording in the rehearsal room on the Marantz...
It's noticible enough to be annoying and to want to do something about I think Jon.
I've got an old Telex Copier IV that's still operable. I don't use it much but I'll dig it out and put something through and see if there's any evidence of what we can hear on madeline2. When I got that old...
The BR1600 does it's AD at 24 bit, dithers it down to 16 bit for storage on the hard drive, dithers it back up to 24 bit when applying filters and effects & then dithers it back down again to 16 bit to store the results.
These units are getting pretty cheap second hand now. I reckon you could...
