How Do YOU Get A Sweet Vocal Sound?

Ok I understand. What if you don't want that chorusy sound? I've work in many studios (as a session player) and never did I saw the singer double tracking his/her vocals...

How Do YOU Get A Sweet Vocal Sound?

Doesn't double tracking gives you a chorusy sound? Or does double tracking means two mics on the same vocal take?

    The NEUMANN TLM102

I just got a TLM 103 (which sounds really good to me) used for 650$ on ebay. I believe the TLM 103 is better than the 102.

    Using the Channel Strips presets

Anyone here uses the channel strips presets for your tracks? The other day I discovered those... and compared them to what I did... they were so much better. Am I lazy or are they good?

Thanks everybody, I am looking into building my own broadband traps now AND using the big room. Simply out of curiosity, anyone built a portable one? Useful? Better?

    Tricky question.

In today's world... the question should be more like: What's more important, melody, lyrics, vocal talent, grooves, dance moves, looks, style... Beyonce has great melodies, lyrics that speaks to everybody, vocal talent, groovy songs, great moves, looks awesome, she sings in a wide array of styles.

    Time Signatures!

But sometimes like Mission Impossible Theme, it cannot go any other way but there. I am in the midst of writing a children's musical and on one piece, the vocals need that extra time to make the next phrase... My song is now in 7 instead of 6.
