I'm DIY for everything, and not just because it's the only way I can afford. It's mostly because I strive to be good at everything I do, and I want to take as much pride in my art as I possibly can. I think both the creative and technical aspects of it are equally important, and gaining more...
As far as proprietary wares go, I am quite fond of Ableton. However, my most recent project was mostly done on Audacity. I used Ableton at first to put together some sampled beats, mixed it down and used Audacity for the rest. I had a tight deadline, and this was the easiest way for me to do it.
I bought some of that "proper" cleaning solution on ebay. They accepted my money but didn't send the product. Be careful with ebay, as I've been burned a few times!
Looks way snazzier than my "kit". I have a toy electronic drum kit made by Kawasaki. I got them for a few bucks at a thrift shop. I disconnected the built-in speaker and replaced it with an old guitar's 1/4" jack. I plug it into my digitech RP300, because I need compression and noise gate on...
I'm listening to it very quietly because two different TVs are on in the same room, but I am enjoying the song, and intend to play it at a more appropriate volume later :)
At the time they were made, I thought my first recordings were pretty good. Now, I think my new recordings don't sound too bad, and they're a whole galaxy-load better than my first ones. Of course, I've gained some years' experience in between; plus my last recording was done with Audacity...
I myself stopped using my usb Sound Blaster, and haven't noticed any problems with my built-in card. Of course, I do intend to upgrade one of these days.
Pretty good considering you already admitted how forced it is. When I write lyrics, my tendency is to focus on whatever feeling I want to convey and just write down everything that comes to mine. Later on I find a way to fit the various ideas together like a jigsaw puzzle.
Thanks. Yeah it is well worth the 20 bucks. Actually I was forced to improve it's tone, since whoever wired it didn't bother to ground anything. That's fixed, but a few of the frets are well worn. I love the neck though I should have posted a photo of that to show how thick it is.
I never...
I bought this guitar for $20 at a thrift store last week. There's no brand name and I've never seen one before, so I'm wondering if any of you might recognize it. The photos are crappy because they were taken on my crackberry.
You must be very patient, or at least find some sweet bargains.
My gear is pretty lo-fi, and I like it that way. I've done a lot of upgrading this year, after last year's mass equipment failure: (new (used) mixer, new (used) PC, new (used) computer desk. The desk is a major space-saver. The...
Haha, you type the way William Shatner speaks! EMPHASIS on certain WORDS helps GET the POINT ACROSS. Anyway, I recorded some vocals yesterday, and most of the tracks were deleted soon after. I suck.
