Making soundtracks for film/tv/radio - How to get music heard and sold in 21st Centur

It's not enough just to upload your music on royalty sites and hope for some cash. If there's one thing I've learned in this world, it's that you have to take matters into your own hands. Build your own website and start promoting your brand on every social media and as many forums as you can...

Mike Ost - Feeling Sounds [SYNTHWAVE]

The children choir provides an interesting twist for an EDM track such as this. I really love hearing unique things in music, so keep it up!

Is there something Wrong with the Way I Mix?

Thanks for all the replies. So when you say that there are too many "busy" parts in the song, how would I fix this without removing instruments (or is that what I should do)?

    The Time, is Magic

Love the bass chords in the beginning (not enough bass players use chords!). The breakdown at 1:23 also helps break up the song's pace successful and transitions beautifully back into the groove. Great work as always GONZO.

Is there something Wrong with the Way I Mix?

Hello all. I just wanted to get the advice from those more experienced in mixing on how my mixes sound. Below is one of my most recent compositions. I've read and watched plenty of material on how to properly mix, but I still don't feel like my songs are as "up-front" as they should be. I'm...

Best DAW for recording and or editing audio files.

I've always used good ol' Garageband for recording my guitars/bass. It's very simple to use and manipulate recordings as well.

[Other] Sacred Place of the Stone

Hello Home Recorders! "Sacred Place of the Stone" is by far the most complex song I have worked on. I arranged most of the instruments and played a real acoustic and bass as well. I hope you enjoy!

After years of recording musicians at home, I've just signed my own commercial lease!

Incredible place. I would love to record stuff in that space.

    feedback on my recording

Nice rendition of this song. I believe that I agree that the piano sounds a little too robotic. Either more emotion should be put into it, or changing the velocity of the notes should do the trick.

    "First Tracks"

I've listened to a few of your tracks thus far and I'm really impressed. You have fantastic technical technique in all instruments (if you played them all) and your songs don't feel like they are copying from anyone else.

    "Shaman song"

Great song, GONZO-X! It has a very organic feeling to it. I'm guessing you were inspired by some 90s stuff as well. I could definitely working together in an entire album.

    [Electronic] Letters From Home

Hello all! "Letters From Home" is a track that is entirely made by my brother this time (we are a two-piece band). Let me know what you think so that I can give him some feedback.

    Tips for Collaboration?

Greetings all! I was wondering for those with experience in collaborating with another member, what tips can you share so that communication and workflow between the two producers is as efficient as possible? I'm interested in eventually collaborating soon, so any help is appreciated.

Regdar and the Fighters on Patreon

What you are doing seems very interesting. Not sure you can make a living off of selling them though. I do love the concept and would be interested in testing it out.

Terrific find Gtoboy. I learned much from these articles.

    a amateur needs some feedback

Very impressive work for someone with not a lot of experience. For tips, I would work on understanding compression, as I feel this track needs some. The mix sounds great though, so just keep working and expanding your knowledge.

    [Dark Ambient] I Can't See

Hello all! I'm pleased to announce the creation of a new song! This one's titled "I Can't See", which invokes a dark, thoughtful atmosphere that coincides with the song. Hope you enjoy!

    Interesting articles

I have mixed feelings about this article. The first is that I do agree that recording to a metronome can limit your freedom. Sometimes when I'm recording, I sometimes turn off the metronome if I want the song to have a more "live" feel to it. Secondly, I don't think the metronome is a bad tool...

Should you practice singing with your recording setup?

This is exactly what I do when I'm practicing my singing, especially outdoors. Though, in my opinion, this does not excuse properly training and hearing your voice only.

    Just starting!!. Any advice?

Honestly, the difference between a professional-quality home studio and you in your bedroom with headphones only is not as a large as you think. I have no doubt a lot of the songs on this forum or others are produced using minimal costs.
