    Best Double Kick Pedal

i liked the axis single pedal i tried out. i'd imagine their double pedal is amazing. i currently have an iron cobra single, which hasn't won me over yet.

    Which tele?

glad to hear positive words about the mexi-teles. i'm (literally) saving my nickels and hope to get one by the end of the year. hopefully i can find one in arctic white that plays well/feels good. i'm not sure why i love that color so much...usually white and off-white guitars aren't my thing...

    Bassists that rock?

any list of "bassists that rock" that doesn't include john paul jones is incomplete, pure and simple. what is this fascination with complexity? someone around here needs to define "rock". "fusion" is probably more accurate.

Does anyone own one of those Rogue electric sitars?

good points. i'm not sure if this is true across the board, but it seems like sitars are WAY easier to find these days than they were ten years ago. i see them pretty frequently in random places these days. i'd imagine they're pretty easy to find online, too.

it sounds like you want music to be a sport.

Does anyone own one of those Rogue electric sitars?

how is your advice different than telling someone who wants to buy an electric guitar that they should buy an acoustic instead? i don't mean to suggest that your advice is bad, i'm just playing devil's advocate.

    Bassists that rock?

oh cool, i knew of armand sabal-leco from paul's live band around the time of his concert in central park. i didn't realize there was a different bassist on the graceland album.

Want to play the Guitar (I Need Help)

Sycal is 15. i'm betting he wants to play music with his friends from school. i'm also betting they don't want to play acoustic music. i agree that learning on acoustic tends to make you a better player, but playing with your friends in a band and having fun will make you WANT to be a better...

Want to play the Guitar (I Need Help)

i don't know anything about that starter package, but i'll bet the quality is comparable to the fender "squier" package which is $70 more expensive. http://www.bananas.com/productdetail.asp/PID_1273

    Les Paul Questions

nice. congrats on your new guitar. although i'm generally pretty conservative when it comes to guitar colors, i have to say that that shade of blue really works well. is the guitar new? if not, how old is it? what was the price, if you don't mind me asking?

    Les Paul Questions

you won't lose value on a les paul unless you get ripped off. my old les paul was used for a few years at gigs, had a stickers peeled off it (the pickguard, not the wood), had tuners replaced, etc., and i traded it for 50% more than i bought it for after only a few years. it probably doubled...

    Les Paul Questions

looking at it that way it makes a lot of sense. i'm unfortunately not accustomed to being in high level studios (though all the studios i have been in have a good deal of high quality equipment). on a related note, do rental places generally have HIGH-end les pauls, etc.?

    Les Paul Questions

ok, so say you have a "pro" studio with great gear on hand. if you've booked a wannabe you'll probably hide your nice guitars. even if you let them play them, they wouldn't be able to make them sound good, so what's the point? pro musicians don't need to borrow your nice guitars since they...

    Les Paul Questions

is it necessary to have a "house guitar" in order to be considered a "pro quality" studio? seems like if you're a musician who has the luxury of recording in a pro quality studio you should have your own kick ass sounding, studio ready equipment.

i believe you. i'm sure he's played just about every type of guitar over the years.
