isn't that the truth Bruce. I'm curious because of the "tape in pocket" aspect of the story which would have to be a cassette. If your out there Bruce we'd love to hear from ya. Rob
With good recording technique,It's amazing how good a cassette multitrack can be and sound on Tascams Porta line. And for so little money! Any truth to the story that Springsteens "The River" was done on the Teac or is it the Tascam144? The 1st model multitrack cassette deck? I heard a...
I'm looking for a BBE 262 Sonic Maximizer. They cost 79.00 at musicians friend. I have a Audio Technica Pro 4L that was a display model from a music store. like new with the box. These sell for 70.00 to 85.00 depending on where you buy it so I'ts an even trade
Thanks Chuck,That's nice to know. I would have guessed an MS16 would have blown the doors off a 1/4 inch machine. So I guess For those of us who can make do with 8 tracks, wer'e not very far off the pro mark with the fostex/Tascam 1/4 inch tape recorders. It certainly is alot more econominal...
can you can tell a tascam 388's performance from a msr16's,is there that much difference sonicly? I would think it would be very apparant comparing comparing the 388 or a fostex 1/4 inch machine to a Tascam ms16 1 inch recorder, maybe or probably I'm wrong but it's very interesting to me
That's not a special color, They're showing a picture of the MKII instead of the MKIII. I think Tascam really screwed up when they "improved" the 424MKII.They should have left it alone in my opinion
It's a great 8 track cassette deck, the best sound ever to come out of a cassette 8 track the only exception being the dolby "s" version. better specs than a 488MKII. 8 track simultaneous recording. pinnacle of analog cassette tech. You will like it
Yes, Hot indeed. I feel like I got somthing great for my money. There's a guy who sells them new on ebay. I got mine new in the sealed box for 135.00 including shipping, Seen them go for even less. You might want to check it out
I record my gigs with either my Tascam 424MKII or the Tascam 234. I use a shure BG4.1 a rode NTi which I don't want to use anymore for fear of it getting damaged, line level ins, a shure 57.and a new never tried realistic pzm.My question is with my budget around 125.00,should I get another...
Joanis, It's called a Tascam 234. It's sorta like a 238 but it has 1/4 inch inputs. No eq's. I own a 238 a 424MKII a porta 1 a 246 and the 234 is the best in sound quality in a 4 track cassette. on par with the 238,maybe better. I love mine. great for recording gigs. They show up on ebay, Check...
Tascam 238 is also great and records 8 tracks at once. portable. you will need an external mixer. A guys got a brand new TASCAM 388 1/4 inch 8 track mixer/recorder on ebay RIGHT now that you might want to consider.Thats rare in that cond.
I'm not sure I know what yo mean. What ever you record on track 1 can be put in the left speaker by degrees by turning your pan knob to the left. for track 2 do the same but to the right. Then back left with 3 if you want it left and right on 4 for a right channel
I have owned 48's. They are a nice sounding mic whith that quality sm57/58 sound,They just aren't as "hot". They are a strange duck for the reason you mentioned,For a few bucks more you can get the 57/58
Take your mics home. When I had my gear set up in my former garage studio I would always take my mics with me,just in case of a buglery. At least you'll have somthing. Go to your local home center and see if you can find one of those oil filled heaters like the famous "Delongi" brand. They have a...
