I agree this is a very complex board it took me two months of down time to figure it out to the point where I wouldnt be wasting the clients time. as far as the head phone jacks on the front they are used mainly for the engineer to use as refrence, I tried to get the talk back button to work...

that was quick. If you do have the head phone amp then I would go into RCA studio outputs this will make it a lot more easy. but then again the slate button works fine I tried it last night so I would know what I was talking about. as for the effects, I need to see my board so I can explain it...

Sorry for taking so long getting back to you, I have a major cold. and I hve spent the weekend in bed watching football. So I am not sure if you are using a head phone preamp for the head sets so if you are you will need a quater inch cable to RCA pluged into the studio outputs on the top of...

    compressors

I f your doing both at the same time A) its better to be standing while singing and playing B) sing a little up into the vocal mic not down C) I would use a small condenser aimed down towards the hole of the guitar as to get less pickup from the vocal just some starting ideas for you

    Bass Tracking

If you have the channels a DI and micing the cab works great also because you get the warmth of the cab and you get the intracitness of the bass fingering on the strings also if your cab is noisy a gate on the cab would help. Good luck and PS I know I suck at spelling

    Audio Technica?

The bottum line is AT mics are very very good for the money so you are one lucky dog if you can get them cheaper, I would give my baby toe if I could get mics at close to cost from AT or any of my favorite brands

    acoustic recording

But if thats all you have to work with the condenser would probably be the better of the two. all tho I have not heard the sampson. the 58 can be used for vocals, it would not be my choice but if thats all you have the 58 can work, many people have recorded vocals with them even on songs that...
