Do they make what Im looking for?

Definitely check out Soundreplacer. It works in the RTAS format (and works well too.)

    Good, cheap diffusion products...

Unfortunately Tubedude, the 12.99 price tag means that if you order 12 you can get them for 12.99 a piece. Otherwise they are a little more expensive....I was dissapointed.

    Advice on Shipping a Mixer

I just bought a soundtracs topaz 32x8 and I love it!!! UPS and Fed-Ex cannot ship packages that big, so it'll have to come by freight. It cost close to $400 for packing, insurance, and shipping for mine. Not cheap, but it got to me safely!

    Another Topaz question...Harvey, Q, charger......

I'm curious exactly how the Aux sends/returns are laid out on this board? I've read a lot about it, and it seems that there are only 2 available at mixdown. Could someone explain this to me a little more. Also, are there any workarounds that you guys have found to get past this problem? Thanks!

Shack, What kind of "studio sound" are you going for? Give us examples.

my drums sound live as hell - when i want them to sound studio

There is really no definitive answer to "how do I make my drums sound like they were recorded in a professional studio." There are a few things to consider though such as a good drummer, a well tuned kit and a decent room. Beyond that it really depends on the ears behind the console...

I just ordered some from foambymail.com last week (it should be in this week.) They also sell on ebay. Definitely cheaper than Auralex.

my drums sound live as hell - when i want them to sound studio

The key to "studio" drums is a noise gate on all of the drums....WHAT!!!!!!!! BAD Darrin, BAD!

Have any of you bought acoustic foam from these guys?

I found a site on the web called www.foambymail.com that has great prices on foam. It looks just like Auralex foam ( and has a close NRC) but I'm curious if it's the same stuff? If you have bought from this company, how was your experience? BTW, this is NOT a plug for these guys!

    Good patch cables???

Thanks guys. I've ordered from markertek before when I made my mic cables. I just thought that it would be crazy to actually solder that many cables! I'll call them and see what they can do.

    Good patch cables???

No budget really. They'll need to be 1/4" , not TT.

    Good patch cables???

I need some good patch cables. I would make my own...BUT, it would be more expensive and a whole lot more time consuming (imagine soldering 50 to 100 cables...no thanks) than just buying them. So what should I get? Are Rean or AP audio patch cables any good? Don't tell me Hosa!!! :) Thanks.

Why is my AT pro25 distorting???

It's not the mic cable either. I'm guessing that the diaphragm is fucked! I'm not too happy about that! The Radio Shack sounds almost exactly like a SM57. The only difference was the 57 was slightly "rounder". This was on a 8" rack tom too, so it may sound different on a bigger tom. The...
