    YouTube - Walk With Me

That was just great Dave, especially having your kids as the 'past' part to you and your wife as the 'present' part. It was very well recorded as well. It looks as though everyone in the cast enjoyed it immensely!!!

Retracking of a Blues song-Last one to know

I posted an early version of this once, I've finally gotten another try at it. This started as a old school blues song, after laying down the guitar tracks it's more of a blues rock tune now. Lots to work out still, but I thought I'd get it out there for now. There are a few new guitars that...

    Humbucker Installation?

You'll need a couple of magnets-I would just grab a few of those refrigerator magnets-they are on every refrigerator, I think all new frig's come with them these days--they should work just fine!:D I installed a couple of the 4 conductor 'buckers in my SG and my Firebird-DiMarzio PAF in the SG...

    can't get a good sound P90

Your description sounds good, Lou-I have a Melody Maker with a single dog-ear P-90 in the bridge and raw with an edge states it well. The OP might need different values of volume and tune pots to get the sound they are looking for-and my guitar has a 223 ceramic cap like most other Gibson guitars.

    Guitar Amp Mics?

I like the ribbon on acoustic instruments as well-I used the Nady for some mandolin and acoustic guitar tracks with good results. Just remember-never use phantom power with a ribbon or it may fry it!!

    First drums in new studio

I guess I just wanted them to be roto toms so much I convinced myself they were. I played in a band years ago and the drummer had a great old Tama kit-heavy duty as hell-with roto toms, and he lived for Rush tunes. Damn, those were some fun times..:D

    First drums in new studio

Hey Bob, it sounds nice-a well balanced drum kit. Did I hear a bit of roto toms in those fills? Haven't heard those in a while! Good memories! Good job playing and in your tracking.:)

    Bad Connection?

Speaker cable is 2 insulated wires-like the cord on a lamp. Instrument cable has a hot lead that is shielded by the coax ground that is wrapped around it. A band member from a few years back was constantly having problems with his amp cutting out-which was a nice vintage Bandmaster head into...

    NGD- Ibanez Artist

My Ibanez case had the yellow lining-no name as well.

    NGD- Ibanez Artist

You are correct Heatmiser, and the guitar at the music store must have been a Yamaha as well! I had a Ibanez Les Paul copy many years ago and sure learned a lot while I had it-that was 30 very fuzzy years ago too.

    NGD- Ibanez Artist

That's sure a beauty Gonzo! Wasn't that the model that Santana played for a while when he switched from Les Pauls? Here is an early photo of Carlos with what I believe is an Artist model. I recall Steve Miller had an interview with Guitar Player in the last few months and a 70's photo had him...

    if you had...

Jesus! I remember a bass player auditioning for our band many years ago and we had to carry it down a flight of stairs-and back up-it just about killed us all and we were still kids in those days. Only thing that was as bad was the keyboard players Hammond B3~

    Holy Diver - DIO tribute

Damn Joey-that was an incredible performance!! When I saw the title 'Holy Diver' I thought that they needed you on the vocal-and there you are! I do believe the crown needs to be passed to you for the New heavy metal King-:D Like others have said, the bass is a bit low in the mix-I'm listening...

I listen to music, but that's about all I know.

The PRS keyboard will give you a good start to learn the keyboard-the grand piano sound on lots of the Yamahas is a very nice sound. You might start out with the auto accompaniment to learn some basics and work up to the step recording. Step recording is entering a note at a time and can help...

    What guitar is this???

Yeah, it's a Jurassic ancestor of the Dusk Tiger 'Robot' guitar..:laughings: I sure reminds me of the the Teiscos that I saw in Woolworths & K-Mart as a kid.

Which of these headphones are the best?

I use a set of Yamaha RH-5Ma's for most of my recording and some mixing-they are a semi closed headphone that are much easier on my ears on long tracking sessions. I have a set of Sennheiser HD 280's as well, and while their bass is just a bit deeper I like the RH-5Ma's comfort and I grab the...

    Finally a Hollowbody!!!!!

I have an Epiphone 335 style Sheraton II-and it has a nice bluesy/Jazz vibe as it is. I had thought about a pickup change but having to remove most of the wiring and pots through the F holes changed my mind about that. It's got a very nice rhythm and lead tone-especially played through a...

    need new knobs

The chrome knurled knobs with the set screw is a good way to go with push/pull pots installed, I have several Teles with coil splits on the humbuckers and I love them. An added feature is that the set screw can be used as a gauge to let you know when the volume or tone are near their maximum...
