This is only true if you have a Firepod less than a year old, the XMAX pres were developed for the Firestudio so they started putting them in the Pod.
Also the Studio haves a better clock and converters....
I kinda disagree, Im running a compaq presario with an athlon 64 2.2 Ghz, XPMCE, a Firestudio and a Digimax FS with cubase SX3 and I have no problems what so ever! ;)
You beat me to it, XP pro is not an upgrade from XPMCE, on top of that I run MCE and I have no problems running anything with it........some people just dont have the knowledge on setting up a computer for recording:rolleyes: ;)

Size the program window to fit both monitors then just size the project window to fit one screen and then drag your mixer(s) and transport to the other screen, save as template and then you are set! this is so simple.
Yes, get a external 7200 rpm Firewire drive, The drive in your laptop is prolly 5400 rpm and trying to run sofware and the write tracks on that slow of a drive will cause all kinds of problems.
