There is a way to clean up the tracks manually in Cool Edit. I'm not sure if I'll get chastised here for this info, but I use it all the time and it gets rid of the hiss and stuff in the background. But when you do this, make sure you don't have any bleeding from the mic picking up your music...

Sounds like they put flanger on the drums in a few songs ... songs like Twilight for instance. Perhaps a boost on the high-end of the EQ as well.

I noticed today on Turn to Stone that the harmonies also have what seems to be a lot of bass voices in there. Almost sounds like a Gregorian Chant. I can't figure the notes out though, it's so muddled.

Yeah it's definately hard for me to make out what each harmony is when it comes to this type of thing. Same with Beach Boys and Queen. There's just so much going on, and it seems the harmonies are "dummed" down a bit so it's almost muffled or something. Hehe, I had no idea I was recording...

On the actual recording the part when they go, "Doo wop ... doo bee doo wop ..." sounds like there's something on them. I think I might try it the other way. I know there's no real harmony formula, that's for sure, considering that they sound like they are all lead by a certain voice following...
