    guitar blues track too dry

Have you tried taking it out of the closet? Is it in there to keep sound in or keep sound out? If it's to keep sound in, and you don't want to annoy the neighbors, you can try some reverb. If it's to keep sound out, you should try adding some of that sound back in. Either open the closet...

    Cubase and Guitars

There are just about as many ways to record a guitar in Cubase as there are aspiring guitarists on the planet. However, to answer your question, yes. You can definately record your guitar into Cubase. Recording straight from the guitars' output, however, will give you some pretty dull...

What MIDI controller to control Cubase or Logic ?

Try here.. http://www.doepfer.de/home_e.htm They're cheap, and they're MIDI so they work with just about any software.

    Tape Fucking Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps I should say it doesn't belong in MY studio. For the dollar value, you simply can't beat digital. Cheap analog sounds cheap. Cheap digital sounds OK. If you look at the top of your screen, you'll notice the "Home Recording" logo. Tape isn't a viable option for the majority of home...

Anyone using a liquid cooled DAW?

I've never seen a liquid cooled power supply. There's an option that I have seen though, and it's cheap too. You get your computer as quiet as you can, liquid or not. Add some sound deadoning material to the inside of the case and make sure that everything is mounted nice and tight so...

    spdif only soundcards

The DIO seems like it'll do the trick, I'm inclined to stick with Delta as I've had a good experience with them so far. I wonder how many of these things I can link together.... Something else dawned on me just now. If I need to run SX on all of the computers involved, do I need to purchase...

Anyone using a liquid cooled DAW?

I've played with liquid cooled systems quite a bit. If you're looking for performance gains, it gets a bit involved. But if you're looking for a quiter option than the normal CPU cooler, it's the way to go. You can buy an entire setup now for about $150. A few pieces of advice though... 1...

    spdif only soundcards

After upgrading to Cubase SX and a Delta soundcard, I'm eager to try out the Cubase VST link that allows you to sync 2 or more computers together via an SPDIF cable. Any suggestions on an appropriate sound card for the second machine? The requirements are as follows: Must support ASIO drivers...

    Tape Fucking Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't dsipute the 'sound' that analog has or the fact that it's still in use today. But when almost all of the music produced today is listened to in the digital realm (i.e. CD's) then it's not really about the analog/digital debate. If you can hear that analog sound even when listening to a...

    Amp + Computer = ?

If you want to put your computer in a rackmount case, just make sure ir's not right next to the amp. Electrical noise is just one problem. Heat is perhaps a bigger problem. I would put the computer at the bottom, the amp at the top, and anything else (patchbays, effects, etc...) in the middle.

    Tape Fucking Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LocusLarsen, I'm not saying I built anything, I'm just saying it takes a whole lot more work, time, and money to wind up with a good sounding analog setup than it does for digital. I did have thousands of dollars of analog gear when I was recording to tape. I have yet to find something I...

    Delta 66 with VST 24?

Does the 66 work at all? Windows sounds or games? As far as I know, there aren't any problems with Delta and VST/24. Make sure you are using the newest drivers from Delta. Don't assume the the drivers that it shipped with are the newest, go to the website and download them. Also, see if...

    Tape Fucking Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For all the people who just love that analog tape "warmth"... Pick out your favourite CD that you know was recorded or mastered on tape. Put it in your CD player and listen very carefully. You can hear the subtle qualities of the tape coming through. The mellowness of the distortion. The...

    all confused bout delta soundcards

I'm running an AMD Athlon 1.4ghz with an Asus A7X motherboard with a VAI chipset. The OS is Windows 2000 Pro (service pack 3). I recently installed a Delta 1010LT with no problems. You didn't mention which operating system you are running, but I'm not sure it makes a difference either way...

    PA Cabinet ports

If you're looking for tighter bass response (i.e. doesn't distort), you're going the wrong way. Adding a port or increasing the existing port's efficiancy will only make it worse. Have you tried closing the port that's there? It will decrease the bass responce when the volume is turned down...

    need advice quick

Now you're getting into the nuts and bolts of computer building. The memory should definately be matched to the motherboard. Also, the computer you are looking at has a VIA chipset. There hae been problems with these in the past with Delta sound cards. If I were you, I would be looking at...

    So I just had this world-class vocalist in here . . .

I definately get the 'don't approach' feeling about Clint Eastwood. Still, you never know till you try, and you might walk away with, at the very least, a good story or two.
