well i appreciate everyone's comments (to an extent! lol)
i'm keeping the arrangement as is. i love the strings and the slower vibe of the song. but i would never even imagine that everyone else would agree with me. if i was going to play it exactly like the original, why bother? like i said, i...

Thanks for the input! Do you really think I should double track the guitar on this song? I kinda thought there was enough going on, it didn't really need it.
And what is a klopfgeist?

Norweigian Wood by seaandsilence on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free
i have a hard time judging my own vocals, can you let me know if i'm even hitting the right notes? i'm sure a little bit of "tasteful" (i.e. not robotic) autotune probably...
i covered the beatle's norweigian wood and i wanted to get some critique from anybody/everybody but i wasn't sure if it would be breaking the rules to upload a cover and wanted to check first. is it allowed?
okay, i'm sorry i guess i'm not very good at describing my dilemma.
here's a larger picture:

can anybody please tell me how to go back to a normal view? i CANNOT figure it out and it's...
I'm glad to hear the guitar tones are good... makes me feel like it's okay to use amplitube if the results are good. =)
chili, about the bass and kick, i agree. the bass i can play with a bit, but there are some spots where i think if i brought it out more it'd be too much. not sure. definitely...
ALRIGHT! I redid ALOT of it... lessened the amount of distortion on the guitars, lowered all the volume, re eq'd, re-panned.... sounds MUCH better now IMO.

Okay so this is the first time I've ever tracked and recorded a whole band (my band - figured it'd be the best place to start). Anyway here's what I used:
DAW: Windows 7, Presonus Inspire
Drums: Glynn Johns method with 2 AT4041sp's
Guitars and bass: amplitube 2 (considered cheating? probably...
if you use windows xp or a mac, presonus inspire. i love mine. i think it works on vista too.

if on windows 7, something else. have fun. =)
oh yeah... and my first recording sucked too. to record the acoustic guitar i took a usb headset with a mic and took the ear with the mic off and taped it to the soundhole with the mic sticking under the strings into the hole.
the thing was, i actually DID think it was awesome at the time...
i think his sound was going into the computer fine.. he said he could see the waves being written...
go into preferences in audition and audio/hardware setup or something like that i can't remember off the top of my head and make sure the output is set to the m-audio. if it's still set to the...
i have a behringer c-1 condenser mic and i love it. it was $50.
i've posted clips on this board with this mic on acoustic guitar and got positive feedback on the sound from it.
it's the only gear of theirs i own but based on that mic i would buy more.
go to the microphones forum. tons of info on mic's and price ranges and which ones are best suited.
research, research, research. this can get to be an expensive hobby, spend your money how YOU want to.
like i said, that question has been asked a hundred time before. search button. =)
anywhere from $100 to ALOT more, but i'm guessing you don't need something in the higher end.
read some posts on here, alot of people come here asking the same questions you are and there is a ton of information for people just starting out. the search option is your friend, for sure. every...
