I actually own the AT4040 and I think it's great for some applications, but WAY to bright for our singer. I would be willing to try something else from there line if there way something in the price range that was warmer...
Okay, as of right now I am just using the Rode K2 going in to my Line 6 Toneport UX2 to my computer, and I use Reaper to record. I am kinda tight on money but I'm open to suggestions to mic pre's and such if it will make a measurable difference. Here is a clip of some of the vocals. This is...
I currently have a Rode K2 mic but with the new singer I'm recording, the highs sound kinda harsh and it just isn't as lively. Can anyone suggest me a mic in the price range that should be really good for vocal recording??? Thanks in advance!
I am in a cover band and we are recording a few clips of different songs to go in our press kit. I am trying to get better at this but still need a lot of work. I think my attempts get better each time so that's good. The singer and I did this today. Is there anything noticable that I could do...
I have a Rode K2 mic that has been great but I wanna try some other mics. Does anyone have a mic in the same price range that they'd like to trade. It includes case power supply and everything.
I have a Rode K2 with the stock tube. I also have a Hewlett Packard tube of the same type that says by Amperpex at the bottom. It has silver pins. Should this be an improvment over the stock tube? I also had one with gold pins but I could easily tell that the stock tube sounded better.
I am about to record vocals for my lil band and need as much tips as possible. I use Reaper and a Line 6 Toneport UX2. As far as mics I have an Audio Technica AT4040 and a Rode K2. I don't have any preamps except the preamp simulators on the Toneport. We have one room in an old house that we...
I went to a nice studio the other day, and the engineer had a small, prolly 6' tall enclosure type thing that was padded and put behind the vocal mic. I assume this dampens the sound in some sort of way. The vocals I record sound airy so I was thinking about building something like this. Does...
I use Reaper and a Line 6 Toneport UX2 for all my recordings. I record my singers vocals with an Audio Technica AT4040 straight into the Toneport. I don't think the sounds we are getting right now are bad, but would a preamp for the mic enhance things for us at all? If so what would be a good...
I like the sound of P-Bass pickups better, but for some reason have always recorded better with Jazz's. The pickguard can be changed if you dislike it :)
I am recording a song thats got a bunch of guitar parts that consist of 8ths notes that I would like advice on editing. The tempo is fast enough that the notses blend together and its hard for me to see where to edit. Is there some type of plugin, such as Elastic Audio in Protools, that can...
I have gotten many suggestions from this and other forums, That Hardcore Bass by Eastwest looks very interesting. Has anyone else had experience with this
Does anyone know of any good Bass VSTI out there. I was told about one on another forum a while back, it was expensive but I forgot the name of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am about to record bass on a few new songs. I use a Line 6 Toneport UX2 and Reaper to record. I can either use the Gearbox plugin on the bass settings to record, like I have been doing, or use my Ampeg CL preamp and run into that first. Which one of these methods would have better results...
I have an AT4040 that I use for vocal recording and I like it a lot but it lacks a lil bass and can be shrill sometimes. Can anyone suggest some alternatives in this price range, or maybe any ways I can make this mic work better? I run it through a Line 6 Toneport Ux2 and Reaper. Thanks!
I have an Rode K2 that I am looking to trade. The mic works great with some of the vocalist I've recorded but with the singer in my band, it is too warm. I am looking for something a bit brighter. I will sell for $525 shipped OBO.
