Thanks for the advice! I changed some things a little and posted a longer clip to the original post. I'm using EZDrummer so I don't know how to adjust the EQ on the snare. I've used the templates for it but still can't seem to get it to do right. Any more advice would be appreciated!

I recorded this with Reaper and a Line 6 Toneport. I am kinda new to all this so I can use any kind of advice. My main conern is getting the vocals to fit better in the mix. Does it need more compression or different settings on the compressor? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated...

Do I have to record stereo? Can you get good results without?

Just curious here, should I be high passing the vocals I record? I read on some post that it is usually good to high pass vocals.

Okay I'm really toying with the idea of trying an SM7. Can you compare the Studio Projects T3 and the Shure KSM44 to the Rode K2? What are the differences in sound?

Okay, would the SM7 be closer in sound to the Rode or AT4040 the AT4040? I tried both again tonight on our singer, and the Rode was clearly the winner. The AT4040 seems to have more presence, but it sounded thin on chorus's and such and sometimes sounded harse. The Rode was smoother.

Should I get a preamp to make a noticable difference? Or maybe even interface?
