    Dava Picks, anyone use 'em?

Recently an aquaintance of mine was over for a late night jam and he went on and on about this pick and then i set up my rig to get his opinion on it and he ended up forgetting one of these dava picks and i've been playing with it and i have to say it's been the most comfortable/playable pick...

    transformers headaches in disguise?

After the suggestion of looking at tubes and pins and such, I pulled out my powertubes and I actually have a pair of fairly good looking(condition) and clean Groove Tube 6BQ5'S, the preamp's are a pair of old ass Dutch "Rogers" tubes that don't have any more paint on them telling me what they...

    transformers headaches in disguise?

I've got an old traynor guitarmate, I replaced the caps late last year. I think the pre-amp tubes are 12au7's.

    transformers headaches in disguise?

Do old transformers in tube amps add to the white noise? I read in some reviews that swaping out 'crappy' transformers for better ones made the amp sound a whole lot "better" Also does the brand of power tube account for the sound aswell? like groove tubes compared to phillips or GE for example?

    Epiphone Valve Senior?

thumbs up on your poignent reply, I'm a cook and thought that was funny, but cooking is so easy people are just lazy as pig stuffed to the brim so you'll always be able to make money on something that is desired. I've been trying to talk a friend of mine into the small amp making project for...

    amp mod question: reverb retrofit.

I took apart my little fender frontman 15 to use as a mini cab for my tube amp because it was same watt/amp. The amp though has spring reverb, with a spring unit, would there be any way to put that into my tube amp as a functional reverb, could I take out the tremelo and have the switches...

I really like Goldwave for simple recording. Its pretty idiot proof and you can edit so much of the soundwave/file with that program. its free and not that big to download.

    GFS Humbuckers

I put two different humbuckers of theirs in my squier. I put a highoutput crunchy pat in the bridge at 16k I believe, it is loud and has the bright treble response you'd expect and I bought a 10k hot rail for the neck, which has a lovely fat tone, they sound kinda similar to me except for the...

New pickups for 2 guitars. (tele & strat)

I'm a complete beginner and I used regular old kitchen tinfoil on my squire and it worked. I made sure i covered every square milimeter of the cavity and pickguard. I noticed the difference right away cause it was never ever properly grounded. the only sound i get is from my old amp and the...

    Bass Amps

If someone plays very treble heavy guitar and they mic the cab it'll be fine and it won't bleed over all the other tones? hell, are there any good live sound engineering tutorials? I've talked to various musicians i know who gig and one put it in a pretty interesting perspective of sound waves...

    Bass Amps

That's not a bad idea, we're already a traynor house hold with yga-2 & yga-3 and i saw a couple of months ago the old traynor bass amps go for a fair price on egay now to accumilate $$$ and keep a sharp eye... but what kind of cab would be best suited to yba's?

    Bass Amps

so 15" is for the heavy low end and 10" are more for the punchy bass sound? What if you use 1x15+1x10? well her current band bassist generally plays rock-jam-funk and he'd probably borrow it if his dumbass hasn't gotten an amp yet. Her I think she wants something that would handle rock+punk kind...

    Bass Amps

i'm canadian, musiciansfriend ain't my buddy, guy! :o there's a local kustom dealer in town, he's a douche but I'll venture over there, thanks for the suggestion. Power doesn't really matter all that much when you can mic the cab, right? what are the dynamic differences between 15inch and 10inch?
