    David; Check to see if your tape cue switch is depressed, as this will allow any recorded tracks to be heard, whether you want them or not. I hope this solves your problem! chipper

    What speed does the (original) 488 record at -- normal or double-speed?

    I would appreciate any information on the 488, as I want to buy one for my co-writer. He has a PortaStudio 02, but it records at normal speed, while my 488 MKII records at double-speed - making it impossible to share tracks. I thank you, in advance, for your help!
