Looking for a GOOD digital piano for around $1000

I'm with The Green One re. Yamaha. I bought a P-120 about two years ago for around $1k, and I love it. The thing has a full 88-key graded-key-weight keyboard so it feels just like a "real" piano. There are other special tricks which make it sound realistic (Dynamic Sampling, Soundboard...

    headphone amp/mixer...

I have a couple of Samson Q5s - they're OK, and do exactly what they're supposed to. I also have a Behringer HA4400 which is a bit more flexible and I think is better made, but at the prices we're talking about here, the Q5 is pretty good value. Hope this helps - - Wil

recording 2 grand pianos in 1 room

Gentlemen - thanks for the advice. Rich - that's an interesting idea to mix the Neumanns and the EWs (as each one will be tracked, I'm not so worried about accurate stereo within each dis-similar pair of mics, I just need to keep the pianos separate). Good idea not worrying about the stereo...

recording 2 grand pianos in 1 room

Well, I haven't been around here much recently, but I'm looking for advice. I'll be making a recording of some two-piano arrangements, and this will be in a fairly small music room. The two pianos are wing to wing on opposite (long) walls of the room, so that the performers face each other...

    Roland VS-1824CD Frozen!

My VS-1680 ocassionally does this - usually if there's a space problem. I fix it by power-cycling, and so far, no damage has been done. It hasn't occurred since I installed a larger hard-drive. Hope this helps - - Wil
