    Down

Ha! Cool! Vocals sound like RAMI. I really like the harmonies on this one. Melodically, it's very interesting. Had me smiling throughout. Bass might be a bit loud, or you could try cutting it by 3-5dB around 200-300Hz. Toms on the drums might be too low, too. In comparison with the...

    Bad Dreams

Lots of low-end stuff going on here. Tubbiness has been mentioned, and I agree. It's a bit over-powering. Overall, it sounds good. Chaotic and a bit messy, but good.

The Sun Lies - alternative pop rock

Listening now, and I'll comment as I listen. Beginning strings / pads sound great. I really enjoy the soundscape they are creating. Anticipating something cool. Guitars seem nice. Full-sounding. I'm not a guitar-guy, but I really like how they sound. The vocal entrance is interesting. The...

Enya's Orinoco Flow - Hard Rock

Another vote for a more aggressive de-esser... I can hear it now. Also, Taras, I took the liberty of clicking on your soundcloud, and gotta say - I like your jams. I listened to The Sun Lies, and Midnight, and they sound great! As far as the dense instrumentation, I definitely have too much...

Enya's Orinoco Flow - Hard Rock

The "da"s are supposed to be "de"s... And I definitely put too much of a "t" on it, but at this point, I don't want to re-sing it. I'll try to get a more aggressive de-esser. Also - I checked, and the audio seemed fine at 4:06-7 on my end... Is the drop-out reproducible?

Updated mix posted in OP. And here, too

Enya's Orinoco Flow - Hard Rock

Yo, Steve! Good to hear from ya, man. Yeah, I kind of buried the vocals on purpose in an attempt to capture the same feeling as the original song, as they're quite buried, too, yet thick with doubling / harmonies... I'll get a remix up that will open the mix up. Right now, there's too much...

Enya's Orinoco Flow - Hard Rock

It is a busy mix... I think I'll re-mix it to thin it out a bit... New version coming soon. Thanks for the comment! ---------- Update ---------- Yeah, one of the guitar tracks used an amp that accentuated the scrapes *much* more than I wanted. I'll see if I can get rid of that. Thanks...

Enya's Orinoco Flow - Hard Rock

So, it's been too long since I posted. I hope to make up for that by this cover of Enya's Orinoco Flow. I'm going to use it for a YouTube video and I'm interested in pretty much any feedback. Updated Mix v2 http://www.artcitysound.com/clients/testbed/Orinoco_Flow.mp3 Thank you! PS - For...

One Headlight - Rock / Metal Cover

Haha... Cody Kunz? He actually was a client of mine! I probably posted one of his songs in the MP3 Mix forum years ago. Great guy, actually. Anyway... Thanks for listening, Steve. It's good to see some familiar faces around here.

Thanks, Mack! If you have any ideas of songs you'd like to hear done in Rock/Metal, let me know.

One Headlight - Rock / Metal Cover

So, I've decided I've gone completely nuts. For the past six months, I've been making weekly YouTube videos, and to go along with the videos are fully-produced songs. These songs are covers of popular songs from any era. I've done 32 so far, and it's been kind of crazy, as it started on a...

Every Breath You take - Cover

So, I haven't posted in a while, but I was wondering about the overall mix of this. This is the first time I've ever attempted putting forth serious effort into singing lead vocals. Any comments on arrangement and mix would be greatly appreciated. Not so concerned about the ridiculous...

Your stuff always sounds so good, Keith. Have you gone pro, yet? :guitar:

    Face to Face

So guys... I'm impressed! The drum mix sounds pretty good! If you're mixing from the individual tracks, you've come a long way. Kudos. One thing I noticed is that the cymbals lack luster. While tracking drums this time, the overheads I used were ribbon mics, and they inherently have a...

    Apologies, need a sanity check...

First mix: 1. Hats are off-the-charts loud. 2. Bass is MIA. 3. Balance during the hard part seems weird. The guitars lack power, and the vocals are too "on top" of the mix. Gotta seat the vocals in while giving the guitars more power. Drums could come up a bit during the hard part, too...

    New tune, yeah!

Yup. I love it. I don't hate the retro Atari sound at all. My only problem is the song doesn't last long enough. Oh, I'm also going to buy your album now. Thanks for letting me know it existed. :spank: Since 2012. (thank heavens for your sig) hahahaHAHA!! Nothin' but love...

    Two in a month...on a roll

Holy cow, man. I *love* the vibe in the beginning. That's some seriously great sound. So warm and delicious. Then... Drums, dude... Gotta turn the hats *way* down... like 15dB. They kill the mix. Everything else I like. As a song, it seems a bit disjointed, but that might be part of its...

    Mix check - Mean Street

Mix 2 - Huge improvement. I can hear the drums perfectly. I totally hear what others have commented regarding the attack on the kick, and it's buggin' me. It's because I used the SSLG preset on it, which is for very aggressive music, and it just doesn't fit this. Perhaps I'll re-mix it and...
