well, the blackface are 16bit, the mechanics arent as good but i did hear that they can be modified. if it works good, and the price is fair it might be worth it. how many hours are on the drum, to see this hold SET LOCATE and then press STOP,(thats how it works on my lx-20 so im just assuming)...

i just got one of these and i was using it on a snare, and at first i had a lil of boards pres turned up (like at 9 o'clock), and it was clipping so i turned it down and it still clipped so then i took the +20db off and it still clipped. well any ways i got it to stop clipping, but i cant help...

one of the reasons i do it is to get a fuller sound, but like recording engineer said it has to be different takes. it kind of gives it a chorus/delay effect to it, try i think you'll like it.

im thinking about getting that golden ear package that i read in all these magazines, have you guysand/or gals heard anything about it? thanks, Jal

i had one and its a very good four track. one thing is make sure you have it on the noise reduction thingy on the back of the unit. and peak the levels so every once in awhile it gets in the red, so the tape noise gets gets covered, know what im saying?

i just recently got one of those ART tube mp's and i was wondering where i should use those(what instruments), and can i use it kind of as a DI box for like a bass guitar? i also think i heard its good to run those real hot is that true? id appreciate any replies thanks.

well i dont know much about pc recording or sequencing but i do know when you try sincing things up without a sequencer you get a flange sound so it sounds to me its not hooked up right or its broke. sorry im not much help, but maybe thatll take ya in the right direction. Jal :)
