macbook are probably the best laptops you can get for recording. go to the tweakheadz website to check out that fact

yo if i replace the ram on mine with 4 gigs from owc, will it void my warranty? Or do i just have to keep the old ram just in case the mac gets wrecked (knock on wood) and then put it back in when sending back for repairs?

You could get an audio interface with a couple mic pres on it. If it's firewire (and usb 2.0) you can record each channel seperately. So: let's say you have a motu 8 pre. On the back as you can see, there are 8 microphone - 1/4 inputs. SO: You can plug in 4 mics to the first 4 mic pres. Then...
