does anyone use a power conditioner? i got a lot of hum from my jazz bass, i've done all i can to try and eliminate it. im reading that its natural, but it may be corrected with a preamp. anyways, do the conditioners work at all for hum? I can get some Monster brand surge strips with clean...
the effect send would be a line signal to a pedal, etc. ive never heard of a box that accepted speaker line feeds. i guess im gonna have to experiment...
are you trying to build something really high end? or are you a bit cheap and would rather make a weekend project out of it to save a few bucks (thats how i am...). if you are taking the second route, I've built cheap cabs simply by stealing the dimensions from a retail unit, and getting...
Hey can anyone recommend a decent interface for a laptop? I've been using the motu 828 and it's been nothing but problems. I'd like to upgrade. I have firewire and usb2.0 capabilities. I'd really like 8 simult. track recording too...
i have the motu 828 and get jitters in my recordings, heres a link to a 10 second mp3. ive tried everything... and since im not going to buy a new laptop, or a mac... might have to sell the darn thing.... let me know if you find a solution in the mean time, maybe it will help me too...
hey, whats the best way for me to play my bass through my head, but to also record a line feed to a di box? I have an effect send loop on the back, is this a suitable signal? I've never gave it much thought. Any other input would be great...
its a hartke 2000 head if it makes a difference
well the boss 1600 is gonna be twice the price, and if you have a good computer as you said, you dont really need all those computer-related features that you pay for on the boss, but it would be great to use standalone. i have the motu 828 mkI, paid like 400 on ebay for it. it works great...
ac pollution? I don't think that would cause this. I do a lot of portable recoridng and have had the same problem in at least three different locations. I've heard of a other motu users complaining of "scratchy" pots. Could this be causing a problem? Like I said before, I seem to get the...
isnt it strange that the static goes along with the music, sort of? If it were a bad cord there would be no coorelation. i've tried switching inputs with no luck. what is irq? interrupt request? i've had no experience with adjusting such settings. can anyone recommend help or a website...
my first interface was the m-audio transit USB. It was list 99.99, I got it for 79.99 on sale. Ended up selling it on ebay for about the same price (gotta love ebay!). It allowed for stereo recording if I remember correctly, you could get a splitter and have 2 tracks of recording at above cd...
I have been getting this distortion/clicks n pops/static in my recordings for a while. Even just recording a single track it happens. It goes off and on so I'm almost positive it's on the computer/software end. I have a clip link listed below, can someone check it out? Someone with more...
good website to know what each service does...

Hey,
I’ve been messing around with recording for a few years now, and I’ve really grown fond of it. I’d really like to learn the art or recording, and try to make a career out of it. There seems to be a lot of smart and educated people in the industry here, so maybe you can help. I am...
each of the 1/4 inputs will record its own track, so you can record two tracks at once (a guitar and vocals, etc.). you will end up with two wav files. depending on the software, they may show up panned, one right and one left like stereo, but you may just need to center each track... hope...
i have the motu 828, and though it only has two mic preamps, you have gain adjustment for the remaining 6 inputs. I have 2 mics for vocal, 2 on cabinets, and 4 mics on a drum kit. They all sound fine if you crank up the gain. If you use software that supports ASIO drivers (i use n-track) you...
