    Anybody Using An Alesis MultiMix?

I have a 16 usb. Works decent. Firewire can only be better. I say go for it. I would.

I reverse my position on Axis pedals

It's all personal preference. I love my axis.

    I scored a few mics...

No. That is AB placement. XY is here. http://www.mindspring.com/~cityzoo/mjohnson/papers/recording/placement.html I like XY because you can save a mic stand if you have a stereo bar (I'm a cheap bastard).

What is your favorite USB/Firewire Interface?

They are actually both. The xlr and 1/4 are one in the same! http://www.musiciansbuy.com/mmMBCOM/images/PRESONUS/PRESONUS_FIREPOD_FRONT.jpg

What is your favorite USB/Firewire Interface?

Hey, Fletch. Can you plug dynamic mic into the 1/4" jacks (assuming I have 1/4 to xlr to, say a sm57) or can mics only be used on the xlr inputs? I am really interested in one of these!

    Are drum triggers cheating?

I think the only thing being cheated is the drummer. He needs a new bag if he is that bad.

    acoustic set with electronic kick

Nope, e=electric. The rubber thingee is just a piece of rubber that sticks into the hoop clamp. You can use the trigger with either that or normal drums, or a wall or a fake leg.

    acoustic set with electronic kick

That would be the Axis e-kit that I mentioned above.

    Drum system DM-5 by Alesis.

    Really? Ship it to me.

    acoustic set with electronic kick

If you had an axis pedal, you could just attach an e-kit to the pedal and not have to deal with a pad at all: http://www.interstatemusic.com/wcsstore/InterstateMusic/ims/ipf/135845.jpg

    Gravity blasts?

Go on youtube and do a search. It's pretty easy to pick up, not as much to use in normal playing though. Have fun. Oh, and check out Tim Wattersons' stuff, too while you are on there. I'm trying to learn push-pull right now.

    Drum mp3

I have to confess right now, I lurk this board quite a bit, and absorb advice when I can. I know I am getting a 3 pack of Philgood's GLS mics when I get the pocket change. I am pretty sure this will help the snare situation. Any paricular reason you don't use EQ? I'm just asking because I'm...

    Drum mp3

Thanks guys. I have to agree with kick and snare. I'll work on that situation. Travis, the acoustic was a __(this is the part where I AIM the guy who played it and he said "i don't know") and I mic'ed it with the superlux condenser into the Alesis USB board into my mac, which was running...

    Drum mp3

Hi. We dorked around in my basement and was wondering what people thought of the drum sound (not tempo, guitar, or my friend strangling himself and calling it "singing"). It is going to be a song about pudding for flappingcrane.com. I was using an Alesis 16SUSB board. They were mostly drunk, so...
