Any SansAmp Bass Driver fans out there?

I have one and I don't find it particularly noisy. I like it a lot.

    Help picking out an interface

How about a used MOTU 828? They change owners on ebay for <400 and from what I've heard MOTU interfaces work excellent with Macs.

    USB 2.0 vs Firewire

Firewire is the way to go.

    Firewire interface for laptop recording?!?!

No, the PCMCIA bus doesn't support that.

    M-Audio 410 PCI (Not Firewire)

The 410 may be discontinued but it uses the same drivers as the other Delta cards like the audiophile, the 44, 66 and 1010(LT) so I suspect that the 410 will be supported as long the others are as well.

    Computer RAM, Processor??????????

Cut that roughly in half and you'll still have a setup that will run decently, to say the least. (My DAW running Cubase is like that). The best answer is probably somewhere in the middle. :)

    Laptop soundcard suggestions?

It doesn't. An spdif (digital stereo) and two analog and inputs. But of the ones listed I'd pick the Indigo I/O.

    Found a md441 .... finally.

I bought 2 MD421U-4's with clips for 160 euros for the pair, shipped and a 441U with clip for 190, shipped. All of them are bought used and are pretty beat up but they still sound great. The 441 clip doesn't lock anymore though so the mic is fixed to the clip with a piece of tape. I still think...

    M-Audio Delta 410

The 410 is a decent card. I used to own one and it worked rock solid.

wadda ya think about this dual monitor card?

True. It happens to be that the older 1x/2x AGP motherboards usually runs at 5V and the newer that support 4x and up at 3.3V so there is a correlation but in the end you are right sir. :)

Does anyone use propellerhead reason 2.5?

It's great. Used it with XP.

wadda ya think about this dual monitor card?

G400s work in both AGP 1x/2x and 4x/8x motherboards. At least mine does. :) A clue is the two notches in the contacts row. See the picture in the auction. That makes it fit in both old and new motherboards. (I'm a very satisfied 32mb dualhead G400 user)

Which mic would serve as common for Violin, flute, Guitar and Cello

Of the two I'd pick the Multiface in a heartbeat. Both will get the job done but RME is clearly a step up.

Hammerfall DSP Multiface and PCI card bundle

RME is quality stuff. Period. It's mobile in the sense that you can use it with a laptop. You don't *have* to use it outside your studio. ;) 700,- is a good price for this bundle. (And it isn't a PCI card, it's a PCMCIA card)

CS series... Nice, CurrentSense mics :D

    Sickest Interface.

I bought an RME Fireface a couple of months ago and I expect it to stay with me for quite some years! (A bit over 1000,- though so it should).

    S.U.B. or Real McCoy?

I agree. Get it and don't look back. The SUBs are pretty good and they'd make great and sturdy basses for heavy road work but ten years from now when you still enjoy the real deal you'll thank yourself. (A Sterling owner)
