WTB: MOTU 424 PCI card or MOTU 2408 MKIII package.

I need to upgrade the PCI card as it's not playing nice with my UAD-1 cards. Maybe just the 424 card, or the card and the MKIII breakout box if the price is right. Thanks for looking. Nathan

    E609 vs E09 silver?

I prefer the silver version too...But what the black version is very useful for, is combining it with a 57 on the same cab. They are very different, and you can mix the balance of the two afterwards for effective 'eq without eq'. I mixed a band at the Reading festival in london, and all the...

    C414BTLII -vs- KSM44 -vs- AT4050 -vs- Babybottle

I like that mic also. I personally think the ksm44 does well on more sources though, and I got mine on ebay for $495...

    DEQ2496: worth it?

No. Not for mastering. I've found it handy for tuning P.A. systems with a ECM800, but this is not a mastering tool.

Beyer DT 770 HEADPHONES - best isolated Headphones ever?

I just mean that the impedence figures don't have much to do with the frequency response.

Beyer DT 770 HEADPHONES - best isolated Headphones ever?

No..the two are almost entirely unrelated. (To my understanding anyway, perhaps I'm wrong)

Beyer DT 770 HEADPHONES - best isolated Headphones ever?

The remote audio cans are the best as far as attenuation goes to my knowledge, and I have looked around alot. The HD600's are lovely..., a dj friend of mine borrowed them to me for a week when he went on holidays, and I rediscovered some favourite albums in a big way. Very impressive, and comfy...

Beyer DT 770 HEADPHONES - best isolated Headphones ever?

Actually I never found them that bad...I have a pretty thick skull though... In fairness, I never had to wear them for more then 3/4 hour at the most. I just used them for mic positioning. Will ask aforementioned drummer. Although he has an even thicker skull...

    1200 euro's to spend.

You can pick up MOTU 2408 mkII's for half nothing on ebay right now. They might be worth a look at... They have word clock and ADAT in/out so they are pretty upgradable. Good monitors are very very important. I like the mission speakers to listen to actually, I have a pair in my kitchen, but...

    Eurorack opinions?

Erm...probably not at that price level. Do you already own the mic or are you planning to buy it ?

Better list everything you have first, w/specs if neccesary. i.e. What kind of PC/Mac you have and what software. Seriously. Down to the cables you have. People will have a better idea what you need then.

Beyer DT 770 HEADPHONES - best isolated Headphones ever?

Oh yeah...if you are looking for specs, they have the same drivers as the Sony 7506's.

Beyer DT 770 HEADPHONES - best isolated Headphones ever?

How 'bout these...? http://www.remoteaudio.com/hn7506.htm '...between 45 and 55 DB of attenuation...' I got a pair for mic placement...didn't really like the sound, but then again I never liked those Sony drivers anyway. Ended up selling them to our drummer after weeks of him begging me...

at what frequency should vocal be roll off inorder to sound normal?

There is no answer to this. Different mics have different frequency responses, as do different voices, preamps, speakers, headphones etc. What mic/preamp/soundcard are you using ? What is your recording space like ? I have never rolled off the high end from a vocal. I have tamed some...

at what frequency should vocal be roll off inorder to sound normal?

I think some reading up on amplitude AND frequency, and how they differ might serve him better in this case.
